Detroit is very likely to hire Borrego.

that is very good news for Cade and Ivey, provided you guys find them some shooters to space the floor. It is probably the worst news for Ausar unless there's some miracle worker on JB's staff that can get Ausar shooting threes at like a 30% clip.

Knowing JB's style of play and preference for players, there's probably a lot of DNP in Ausar's future if he doesn't. I see no way he lets Thompson and Duren see the floor together.

Detroit hired away Vinson from the Pelicans. He's the miracle worker who fixed Lonzo's and Herb's shots.

that's definitely a good sign, but those guys started their NBA careers as low to mid 30s% shooters from downtown. Pretty huge difference. He can start with helping Cade's jump shooting

Yeah, TL hired him a while ago, we have too many bad shooters, hopefully he will help some of them, especially Cade/Ausar and Duren.

Atkinson did a great job with the Nets. He only lost his job because KD/Kyrie wanted control, and that's the deal you make to sign those guys.

And for those mentioning how this affects the Donovan Mitchell situation - most likely either Mitchell was on board with this hire or he wasn't resigning anyway.

Agree 100% that Atkinson knew the situation with Mitchell (likely that he is re-signing) before he decided to take the job.

I can't imagine they hired him without Mitchell's endorsement.

I'm personally not the biggest Kenny fan, so I'm a little suspect of this switch for Cleveland. From the outside it looked like JB did a really good job so it will not be easy for whoever comes in. I hope i'm wrong because Atkinson is a great guy, but his time with Nets is so overrated. He couldn't get that roster to play any defense whatsoever. He had 1 winning record by 2 games then played a mostly non-competitive playoff series.

He is good with players and player dev, and like I said great guy. Maybe he figured some stuff out the last few years in GS. Very easy guy to root for. I don't think he's the guy id hire if i had a roster looking to go from good to great.

Are the Cavs gonna sign any free agents this summer? I think Latrel Sprewell could be a good pickup for them.

Take your trolling elsewhere.

Forgot about the Mitchell connection, think it makes sense then.

Will the Cavs have space/interest in Royce O'Neal? Isnt he tight with SPida?

Hopefully not. CLE has enough undersized guys to play at the SF position already. They're easily the smallest playoff team, they need length.
