to change a small number on the margains.

I guess my question is more strategy. How do you respond to the Republican right wing propaganda machine flooding the zone with lies? Do you spend money trying to occupy as much airwaves as the Republicans basically occupy for free on Fox News? Or do you focus on strategic issues, knowing there's absolutely no way to overcome the Republicans' "free air time" advantage?

I feel like the biggest issue is the Dems can spend as much money as they want on ads, but ads are annoyances that you actively try to ignore. Fox News is something their viewers choose to watch, so every minute of messaging on Fox News is 100x more effective than any ad buys. So if you don't have your own self funding propaganda machine, how do you counter that?

President Donald Trump referred to African countries, Haiti and El Salvador as "shithole" nations during a meeting Thursday and asked why the U.S. can't have more immigrants from Norway.

The MAGA narrative will be either:
1) These reports are left wing media lies, or,
2) The so-called judges who asked her to step aside are (choose one or more):
A) Democrats
B) Not Trump appointees
C) RINOs
D) Traitors
E) Somehow not really American ("What kind of name is that?")

Trump could probably be filmed opening fire on a crowd of Trump fans at a Trump rally and not lose significant support. "An Antifa plant was molesting a boy. Comet Ping Pong, Part 2. President Trump was standing an innocent child's ground, but the pedo used the child as a shield before the FBI facilitated his escape. That boy is a martyr whose blood is on Biden's hands." Something like that. He'll gain votes in swing states and pick up a new nickname, "Dum Dum Donny," from supporters. :D

I previously didn't trust the polls that until recently showed Golfy winning. I can't
say that I completely trust them now. That said, I think most pollsters want to get
the answer right. And we all know only one poll actually matters.

Another 'poll' of sorts is the PPS for DJT, a stock I commented on several pages back.
Initially it seemed like I was wildly off in my thinking about the stock. Less than a
month ago, it was over $50. It's tanked since then which may have had something
to do with some paperwork they had to file as a publicly traded security.
That appears to have coincided with it losing ~ 50% of its value since then.

(re the upcoming debate)
Hopefully Biden and his advisors have a strategy to expose Golfy not only
for who he has been but how, if anything, he has deteriorated into a largely
incoherent pile of ignorant lowest common denominator fear based absurdities
and nihilism.

Going after tRump is a target rich exercise. His outward pride at being rich
(I believe he's actually very insecure) seems like a potentially good trigger.
How could a person with so many advantages fail so many times and
so often in predictable and legally questionable ways?

Or just say real men don't rape. Or smart business persons don't grift.
Or principled leaders don't pardon people with no remorse (Bannon and J6ers).

Something I didn't realize about the 2020 election:

"White women, a group sometimes categorized as swing voters and who broke nearly evenly in 2016 (47% for Trump to 45% for Clinton), favored him in 2020 (53% to 46%)."

https://www.pewresearch.org/politics/2021/06/30/behind-bidens-2020-victory/

I didn't realize Trump had gained support from white women. And this is after he stacked the court with forced birth scotus judges.

I guess the charitable thing is that white women are stupid and assumed Roe wouldn't be overturned. If that's the case Trump might lose them as angry pro choice women turn out while forced birth white women voters, who got what they wanted, don't care anymore and don't turn out. I think that's wishful thinking on my part but let's hope. The other interpretation is that white women voted for Clinton because she was a white woman, but otherwise they are majority forced birth and will continue to turn out to support Trump.

I went to look up what percentage of white women are college educated and the latest data is from 2018 (from a source I don't know the quality of, https://www.statista.com/statistics/785766/share-of-white-non-hispanic-population-with-attained-bachelors-degree-or-higher-by-gender-us/), with 47% of white women being college educated and quickly rising. If that's true you'd think the trend would go in the opposite direction.

Post Dobbs, the GOP and "pro life" pols and policies have consistently underperformed.
It took the actual reversal of Roe for this to happen, but women are pissed.
That's my take on it. Look at any number of races and ballot initiatives since 2022.
Anti abortion policies are unpopular all over, even in states where conservatives
generally do well, KS and OH being 2 examples.

I can’t believe the horror show that is this debate, Biden is absolutely done after tonight, people won’t remember anything that he said, just how OLD and feeble he appears, Obama has to take him to the woodshed and ask him to step-aside.

Did I just watch Biden and Trump have an old man argument about their golf handicap?

This debate was an unmitigated disaster for Biden. Trump was Trump - he lied his a$$ off and made miraculous claims but that’s baked into his persona. Nobody watched Trump today and came away with a different opinion. A *lot* of people watched Joe today and said “I’m probably not going to be voting this election.”

I’ll be supporting Biden whole-heartedly but damn the DNC for not pushing a guy like Gavin Newsom this cycle. Yes, incumbents historically have a big advantage but this isn’t like the past elections - the circumstances are very different.
