Yes.

The goalie, I understand but the other players being able to do that seems kind of dumb to me. But obviously I don’t follow hockey.

Another idiotic thing is they let players lie on the puck in the corners to delay the game.

I hope everyone enjoyed the Raptors championship because Toronto will not touch another major championship in a long time.

This one hurts. Oilers will or should be back again with these core players.

I know 2019 exists but Toronto gotta be the worst sports city in the world. I'll be back on the Leafs if they ever make it to the 2nd round again but until then I'm bandwagoning the Oilers

Lying in front of the puck is crazily brave. You're over thinking it.

It still also shows coming back from 3-0 deficit is almost impossible.

As a person who thinks Leaf-hating is an accepted widespread form of psychological torture and bullying, I'm not going to lie: I found joy and satisfaction from watching one of the great Leaf-hating capitals of the world painfully lose the cup.

I focused on Oilers pain, ignored Panthers joy and it was a passable experience. Like eating broccoli. You know it's disgusting, but it probably does you some kind of inscrutable good somehow.

Connor McDavid, Evan Bouchard... come home and do it right.

Agreed. There is no way in hell that fans of the Canucks/Oilers/Flames/Habs would be collectively cheering for the Leafs in the Cup finals, so F them. I'm glad they lost.

Flames fans were not cheering for the Oilers either.

The final result proves you can't win the Cup with subpar goaltending (Skinner has potential, but isn't there yet with his mistakes) and crappy D like Ceci and Kulak (even as a 3rd pairing, that's not gonna cut it) which ultimately cost them the game.

(yes they couldn't score either...maybe McDavid needs a sniper like Matthews as a running mate  )

They lost by 1 goal. Maybe don't play McDavid like 5 straight minutes near the end of the game. He couldn't make a play.

Mo Rielly would be a 3rd pair D on the Panthers. That's how far we are.

I type this while eating a donut. This was the game McDavid was supposed to show up and deliver. This is what cements your greatness in the league and the game.

Otherwise, its just a statistical orgy like Auston Matthews and Mitch Marner.

To be fair Skinner played pretty well in the 3 games the Oilers won and its not like he was bad in game 7 either. Sure it would've been good for the Oilers to have a better goalie, but goalies are unpredicable. Bobrovsky looked really good in the first 3 games in the finals then suddenly he was mortal, but luckily he played well in game 7.

Still it was pretty cool to see the Cup finals not be a boring sweep and that the Oilers made it exciting and almost did the impossible.

It seems every time i try to follow a team, they lose. Even Brazil has disappointed for years in soccer and they end up not scoring yesterday

I will assume the Raptors winning that championship will be the only one any of my teams will win ever again, since my son was born hours after the championship.

McDavid made a number of plays that could have easily tied the game if not for superhuman efforts from the panthers defense. Whoever got his stick across at the last second to stop his shot when he was essentially just about to push the puck in the net after being left alone in front saved the game in particular. That was insane.

Hard to put blame on McDavid or Drai when they carried the team for much of the playoffs along with Hyman and Bouchard. Panthers just played McDavid very well and learned their lesson from the previous games and didn't give him much room to operate. Also look at the best players on the Panthers and how many of them didn't put up alot of points in the finals either, but as a team they did just enough to beat the Oilers and win the cup.

Draisaitl was pretty disappointing. I felt he was invisible for the entire finals. Connor McDavid is great when he has open ice to move around, but they shut him down the last two games by not letting him skate around.

The Panthers were extremely strong on the puck tonight. The game was very close and the Oilers probably had the better chances, but it felt like they were outmuscled every time there was a big play in front of the net or near the board.
