Tough game tonight.

I found Josh Pitched pretty good. Made two mistakes really, before he lost his confidence. The Gordon HR and the DeJesus triple. But at least half of his hits against were cheap sacky hits. He looked pretty solid out there actually striking out 6 and walking none.

Towers relies on his defence because he'll get hit alot. But his defence was subpar tonight. He did make a nice cover at 3rd though (Even though that's what a pitcher is supposed to do)

Also is it just me or do the Jays have the toughest time against a pitcher who works the inside corner. The only guys who cna really hit them in are Reed, Vernon, Hill and maybe Zaun....every body else the ball has to be right down the pipe or slightly outside....Thomas and Glaus just looked terrible on a few of those K's.

What about Overbay and Glaus? They both went 0-4 and Glaus had an error (though it shouldn't have been).

Nah, just Thomas.

Overall I was pretty pleased with Towers' performance. Our offence and defence didnt help him one bit, and he was perfectly fine up until his last inning, which could have easily been another goose egg as things would have been really different if that out at 1st was called correctly. When I used to umpire, they used to appeal that type of stuff to the home plate ump, why dont you see that anymore?

^Good Question. In baseball the home plate umpire always has the authority to override any and all calls. It's absolutely up to him to make that call when clearly the first base ump wasn't in position to see the tag (obviously not his fault). It seeemed pretty clear to me that a tag was made.

And completly OT here, but I'm watching SC hilites of the Giants game...when was the last time Barry Bonds went the other way with a ball? 1994?

Chacin is the type of player that will get worse as his career goes on...we have already seen his best im sorry to say
"It's like saying, 'Magic, should your wife give you another chance?'" Artest said "He's saying Ron Artest should have no more second chances. What's worse -- me saying I want to be traded or you cheating on your wife?"
