Knicks get: George and Deni

Clippers get: Randle and Diakite

Wizards get: Mitch, Bojan and Jeffries

Deni has an ideal deal relative to youth, production and upside.

A couple picks could be involved too.

Knicks could turn 24 and 25 this year into 16 or 18 and draft Dunn who is an absolutely elite wing defender.

The Wizards aren't trading Avidja for that package. It's not even worth discussing.

There's no evidence to support that. Ankle and shoulder injury are bad luck injuries. He's never rundown at the end of the season. Series against the Hawks wasn't an exhaustion issue either. That was a scrub team being shut down with double/triple teaming.

The assumption is some picks would be involved too

Every Julius injury has been a fluke and had nothing to do with minutes played

- stepped on an opposing player's foot when going for an offensive rebound

- kneed in the thigh by his teammate elfrid payton going for a loose ball

- not passing to an open teammate and trying to pad his stats and ending up dislocating his shoulder

The Knicks have been pretty fire re-signing their own players that they want to re-sign.

I think we have a good shot at IHart and OG re-signing.

The bigger mystery is if/when we get a bigger fish outside guy to sign here.

The next few days seem to be the time that stuff is going to go down all around the league. Let's see what happens

So lets so we are at the second apron. Is that something that can change year to year based on the salary cap raising or would we be stuck for the foreseeable future?

Cause if you can add Paul George to our core/rotation without giving up anyone significant, I think we have a legit championship contender that I'd be okay being stuck with for a few years.

Some are saying it would take a 3rd team to help facilitate a PG13 to NY trade. We’ve got teams we could lean on like Detroit or Washington it’s a long shot but there’s lots of smoke. Lots of smoke.

True, we can trade their picks back to take on some money.

Thibs is all about instant gratification... He doesn't take a long-term approach and see the bigger picture.

If you were stranded on a deserted island with him, you better believe he's eating two weeks worth of rations in the first hour.

I think it’s more likely that PG13 gets sent to GSW in exchange for Wiggins and Kuminga and then he gets his 3 or 4 year extension there. They want Curry to play meaningful basketball these last few years and I don’t blame them.

To trade for PG13, we have to:

1) Give more salary than receive in the trade. Otherwise, we get hard-capped in the first apron. Bojan +MItch = 33,3. We need more 16M in salaries.

2) Being hard capped into the second apron (189M). It os the price to attach salary in a trade for PG13.
PG13 (49) + OG (estimation 35) + Randle (30) + Brunson (25) + Hart (18) + IHart (16) + Donte (11) + Deuce (5) + 7 Vet Minimuns (estimation 14) = 203. We are over around 14M.

Conclusion: we have to give away Randle (Mitch can stay in this scenario), Hart, or OG to make the trade work.

This. Even though I am lukewarm on Randle, he's clearly worth more than these trades are valuing him. Mitch too, if Embiitch didn't ankle tackle him in that series he would have been available for Indiana. People need to chill.

With the new CBA guidelines, here’s what I’m thinking

1) Trade Mitch on draft for an expiring and pick
2) Use the pick to draft a Center that will be groomed for the future
2) Resign OG and Hart
3) Wait until the trade deadline to trade Bojan and expiring player from Mitch trade with a few protected picks for a 20mil starter
4) Make our big trade next off-season by packaging Ihart and Randle for a Star big
5) Let the Rookie Center take over the starting gig next year( if he’s ready)

Another player who has had past issues with Green joining the Warriors. Would be interesting to say the least.

I think the talk is probably Kuzma, Bogs, McBride and a future 1st going to LAC with Mitch going to WAS and PG13 coming to NYK versus a GSW package that could consist of Wiggins + Kuminga (or an alternate GSW young player).

Pretty comparable packages tbh. George may want to stay in Cali though so that pressures LAC to take the GSW offer. IMO of course. It would probably take Randle and Brunson calling PG13 up and selling him on the Knicks title aspirations.

We'll know a lot by this weekend!
