He's been really bad for years. Can't imagine we gave up more than an old Counsell jockstrap (size extra small).
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Wonder what they’re seeing in him. He hasn’t had a good season since 2020. The fact they gave up even something vs signing a guy off the street like Syndrrgaard or Greinke makes me think they see something they can fix…maybe. With that said, not expecting anything really.

He's been pitching in the minors so I guess he'd be more ready to go than Greinke. Keuchel has had a great June and last pitched Friday.

I'm guessing they're seeing a human being who can throw pitches, was once effective even if you have to squint really really hard to see that far in the rearview, didn't cost any prospects, and is already stretched out and ready to go (someone they sign off the street would likely need awhile to get ready).

Feels like just a stop gap to get them through a few weeks before the deadline. The only gave up cash so it's whatever. I doubt he's a longterm answer. This years Julio Teheran

Makes sense on the ready part. Can plug him in right away.

I assume Rodriguez will go back to AAA. It didn’t seem like Ross nor Hall were super close to being ready so assume will be Peralta, Rea, Myers, Wilson, Kuechel for the next few weeks.

With a day off Thursday we don't really need him for the Cubs series but that might be when he makes his debut.

I had no idea Keuchel was still around - I hope he does well for ya'll(especially if he's starting today against Texas). He had some great years for us once upon a time and I'll never forget the 2015 AL Wild Card game against the Yanks.
We watched the tragedy unfold. We did as we were told, we bought and sold. It was the greatest show on Earth...but then it was over.

With Mitchell injury, have to assume we’ll hold tight with the OF’s we have now.

Keuchel needs to be better than today if he plans to stick. That 2nd inning could’ve been alot worse and the 4th he was lit up pretty good. He looked solid in the 1st and 3rd, hopefully can channel that more. I’m not super optimistic on that at the moment.

Hopefully Ortiz isn’t hurt too bad.

Not that we couldn't use multiple starting arms, but part of me wonders if Keuchel was an easy and cheap option to see if they could patchwork things as opposed to making a big move.
