What kind of draft compensation is Reath worth?

Not much.

He’s nothing special, has limited upside but does provide size and shooting.

Random report of the Celtics potentially looking for big man depth. Pretty limited pool of guys to go after, but if he could play defense I could see something along the lines of #30 for Reath+#40. Consolidates a roster spot for Portland for a guy that's not young and would be a cheap depth bench guy in Boston.

Didn't know all that much about him though other than he can shoot a little and has a fascinating backstory.

He is nothing special. Not a shot blocker, moves his feet but not much of an athlete. The effort is there but lacks stand out tools.

I would say Reath is basically Muscala but much better defensive mobility.

He is a legit regular season guy - someone who could keep the playoff rotation worthy big mens minutes down. And I think he can play spot minutes in the playoffs - but he isnt someone you are going to lean on at all and I wouldnt trust him in a close playoff game. But then again, your not getting a guy of that caliber on a deal like Reath's nor at a similar cost as Reath would trade wise.

I think he would be a quality target for BOS. 30 for Reath + 40 seems pretty good to me. PDX clears a roster slot and moves up, BOS gets a system fit to help replace Horford and the salary he comes on is huge to a expensive team like BOS.

I kind of think option 2 because of the age of that core, and I like it for the Lakers because it leaves them with tradeable picks on 2029 and 2031 if an opportunity for a better rotation player comes up.
