I like him. He'll be a solid rotation guy for someone. Cue Badger fans trashing him  (I'm a UW alum but don't hate MU too much).
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Tyler Smith is interesting. His highlights make him look like a bigger Brandon Miller but if that were the case he'd be the #1 pick in this draft so that can't be true.

I like Kolek and think he'll be a solid backup PG in the NBA for a long time. But I'd absolutely hate if the Bucks took him, he doesnt really fit what they need at all and I'm skeptical he could play alongside Dame

Agreed, not a good fit

I think we could probably use another ball handler/passer/shooter like him but like you said, he’s almost certainly a bench piece here and we just have bigger fish to fry.

You guys think you're getting an NBA starter in this draft?

Yea if Kolek somehow fell to 33 and they wanna grab a backup PG there Kolek would make a lot of sense. But at 23 I'd be hoping for more

Know nothing about the guy, but just going off the tape he reminds me of Jaquez. Operates in mid post, crafty footwork, tough. No elite skills or athletic traits, but maybe enough there to be a rotation guy.

I think there are quite a few decent role players to be had at 23, and of those players I think Kolek is one of the worst specific fits for the Bucks needs

I doubt the Bucks draft Kolek. My guess is they are looking for a fluid athlete with size who can guard 2 or 3 positions. Who is that, though?

Plenty of starters taken in the 20-30 range of the last draft that was considered as weak as this one (Maxey, Quickly, McDaniels, Bane). Hell, the post-lottery was the strongest part of the 2013 draft (Giannis, Schroeder, Plumlee, Gobert, THJ, Roberson).

Probability wise, no, but we should try. And our SG spot is basically vacant right now so it’s more possible than usual.

Edit: I wouldn’t be super upset if we did take him honestly. We really need to find some solid young players and if that means they happen to not be the absolute biggest need, so be it. But there are wings that I prefer over Kolek regardless of need that I think will be available.

This is Dairy Bird erasure. But for sure if there is a good SG fit waiting to be grabbed, grab him!

Kolek would work well in a team full of good athletes/defenders. Obviously the bucks aren't a good fit, but he could play in the set ups that other small guards have thrived in like Mcconnell, Brunson or FVV.

I like George a lot and would definitely talk myself into drafting him if he's there (I think he goes in the teens), but I think his "crazy upside" is overrated. He's got an easy to see path to being an elite 3&D wing, but he's a complimentary offensive dude. Perfect for us but maybe not for a team looking for a building block player. Keep in mind he's an older freshman (turns 21 in December) and shot 46% on 2's.

I don't want to pigeon-hole specific traits, but man it would be disappointing to not get an athlete out of BOTH of our picks. As much as I want a two-way guy, that's tough to get at 23/33 and assuming the big 3 are healthy, the offense is not going to be an issue next season. Defense has to improve immensely, and the personnel has to change for that to happen.

Looking for "fit" at #23? I'm just looking for a player who can see the floor, sticks in the league, and holds some future value
