Obviously late to the party, but I kinda like that Giddey deal for both teams.

Then again, guess they’re not letting him walk/trading him. One of those have to pay deals.

He's easily worth 25% of the cap.

They always report the maximum possible contract that was agreed to, because it comes from the agent, so in this case, the reported numbers (5/270) would mean that he's qualified for the supermax, which is far from a guarantee, but which I'm sure any team would be happy to pay any qualifying player coming off their rookie deal. To qualify, he'd have to make a All-NBA team, win MVP, or win DPOY.

THJ doesn’t hold more value than Pat, does he?

Probably not unless they really value the fact that he played for Michigan. I suppose there’s an argument to be made that there’s still a good gunner somewhere in there and he is expiring (as is Pat) right? So fairly low risk bet on THJ reaching his old highs again.

Pat's got a player option in '25-'26 that I doubt he declines. So given THJ's contract is a bit larger and expiring, I would think he's got more value.

Ah yeah I always forget he has an option.

He'll fit in well there but goddamn that is a lot for a very good high end role player.

Look man, I don't think you can go wrong grabbing as many Jay Wright-era Nova guys as you can but I dunno if that should be your entire personnel ethos.

Your move, Horts.

Horst’s lasting legacy will be breaking the NBA trade market with that Jrue deal.
