BKN-NYK-UTH Trade
Nets Get:
#10 from UTH
John Collins
Mitchell Robinson
Brooklyn go a bit younger and get the pick they wanted in this draft
Schroeder/Thomas/Simmons/Collins/Robinson
Knicks Get:
Mikal Bridges
Cam Johnson
They get key players who fit their current system and then re-sign Hartenstein
Brunson/Hart/Bridges/OG/Hartenstein
Jazz Get:
Julius Randle
Randle would be a good All Star in Utah to pair with Lauri long term
Sexton/Clarkson/Lauri/Randle/Kessler

Am I off here thinking the Nets aren't getting enough value?

Said in reference to Utah's trade assets in a potential Doncic deal.

As much as I disagree with the Jazz front office promoting a win now strategy in favor of a better future. I would be infinitely more upset if they thought Randle was the answer.

New York would get cut out and Brooklyn would want a lot more.

NY passes on this. Randle is far too important to our success.

No. The Rockets offered No. 3 for Bridges. Collins doesn't have positive trade value, and if Robinson does, you're measuring it with a microscope.

Jarret Allen isn’t winning you anything. Garland won’t show up in the playoffs. Mobley is a glorified dunk man. Mitchell has some experience but is a liability on defense. To me, the Cavs are a treadmill team.

Brooklyn obviously needs more. Utah would cut NY in a second.
Hate Randle as a Jazz target, wouldn't pay more than #29 to turn Collins into him.

Re: BKN-NYK-UTH Trade
No way are we going to give the value for Bridges who is a nice fit (but wrong directionally) to add Randle. Not that Randle is a bad player, but we have three power forwards in need of minutes. Cut NYK out and add assets from Utah to balance (hopefully we don't do this, just feedback on value...probably needs two future firsts with 10), or cut Utah out and make the matching salary from NYK something like Bogdanovic+Robinson and 3 or 4 1sts.

Yeah. Mikal would be a great fit, but he’s not a second option.

Unless I am missing something it looks like Nets would be getting fleeced. Not convinced that Collins and #10 in this draft gets you Cam johnson alone.
IMO the ideal situation is something like Mitch+Bojan (and some number of picks) outgoing, Bridges incoming and then Nets can figure out what they want and how they value things.
The tough part of any Nets trade with Bridges is with any discussion it devolves into "not trading bridges for a lesser player" then you find a good player "the point of getting that player is to put them with Bridges"
Washington could be used as a 3rd team to return some talent (Kuzma) and then of course picks can be added.
Randle/Utah is a weird fit. They could go small with Randle as a C though.
IMO you have Lauri OR Randle, not both.

If OG has value, then so does Mitch. As a Cavs fan you saw it first hand and Sixers saw it to the effect that Embiid was reduced to tugging at his leg mid-air (should have been tossed and suspended, but superstar).
Mitch likely has a ton of value to a contender, but this deal really works for no one. NY getting too much value though.

Given what Marks just did for the Nets I think we can all agree that this would have been a horrible value for the Nets.
