Yeah we aren’t tanking. If we were Caruso would have been dealt for picks instead of Giddey who will promptly require and extension. But we are rebuilding (right? please?) which probably means more losing for a bit.

Retool, rebuild, whatever. They are making changes to the roster and still want to win.

They don’t want to tank, that’s for sure. As for “winning” we’ll see what they do with DDR. I’d bet a steak dinner he’s gone.

I will jump for joy if DDR leaves. It truly moves us into a new era. Him staying is just idiotic GMing

Giddey will be our starting point forward. Tanking DeRozan’s spot in the starting lineup.

I prefer a more full youth movement and rebuild but this is a very easy report to believe. Zach is a better fit with Giddey and by going Giddey instead of draft picks it shows the Bulls aren’t interested in tanking.

Or they just liked Giddey more than any player potentially available for the pick(s) being offered.

Hahahah. So true.

As long as DDR is gone I’m happy. Zach stays or goes is fine just get an asset. Don’t give an asset.

Zach will never say it, but he will more content to stay if DDR is gone too. Not because of any actual dislike, but because of the way he plays.

Wanting to do something and being able to do aren’t the same thing. It was a priority at the trade deadline too. Nothing has changed since then.

He's a PG and he'd fit great with Ayo at the 2, he has a size advantage and starting him at the 3 takes that away.

While Coby is better than Ayo, having Ayo's defense next to Giddey would work better. This is obviously under the assumption that LaVine is traded.

Giddey/White
Ayo/White
Williams

That gives defense but you could also switch White and Ayo if we get a rim protector.

I just can’t see Coby being benched for Ayo.

You know Billy will be playing three guards at all times. Which is fine if we get a defensive C.

I want to see Giddey Coby Pat 1-3 to give us size advantage for once. No chance that happens if Zach stays. It would be Coby Zach Giddey Pat.

I said that would be the better fit not that it would happen.

Chris Haynes saying Bulls want to resolve Zach trade first before even talking to Demar to resign.

Makes sense. Again Bulls are prioritizing trading Zach first then make decisions on the rest of the roster.

If he hadn’t made an announcement a day before the trade deadline that he was getting season ending surgery believe me this would have already happened. Most likely would have been a Piston.

I bet if KCP signs elsewhere Zach could be in play for MPJ. DEN needs a bucket getter more than anything. Zach would be a great 3rd option there.

MPJ is younger and a solid fit next to Giddey. Think he’s overpaid though.

I wouldn't mind MPJ, but he plays softer than Zach. It is quite obvious out there, that he tries to avoid contact on both ends, to protect his body and back and he generally isn't an aggressive player, and relies on his jump shot way too much.
Why so serious?

He is still rehabbing. It’s not like Detroit was gonna make the playoffs so why did that stop them? And what do we expect to get from Detroit? Cap relief? A draft pick?

DDR has to go to regardless. He can’t coexist with Giddey. It would be just like playing with SGA angain except DeMar isn’t half as good and is 10 years older.

Phrasing it like that leads me to believe that there is a deal out there that can be had — that they believe that they can do — but it might not be received favorably, particularly by the Bulls fanbase.

It would be really tough on them, emotionally, if the Bulls fan base stopped thinking as highly of them as we do.

Why don’t they have the desire to win any of their other trades? Is this a result of the negative reaction both nationally and locally to the Caruso trade?
