The Nuggets remain overrated because we all are in awe of Joker. Even if we only win one we’ve done way more than the Nuggets, yet are the team who people say had an easy path somehow. I hope we separate ourselves this upcoming season and following playoffs and people quit acting like this was just a pause in the inevitable Nuggets dynasty.

I think it would be fair to say that over the past half decade or so, we probably underachieved by not winning a title to this year. The nuggets gradually built the team up and eventually won a title, but probably didn't underacheive at any point (until this season perhaps). The optics are different

Not a case of over or underachieving for me in comparing our media narrative to the Nuggets (although a look at history shows nuggets in the last half decade either did underachieve or had their expectations revised AFTER doing little in the playoffs until winning it all last year). To me it’s more the “optics” as you mentioned. The Nuggets became a team expected to win for the foreseeable future essentially overnight. Their playoff past didn’t get them there if you really look at it, was never brought up again as reason for doubt (despite doing more of the same this year), and they had an even easier path to the title than the one we’re maligned for. The Celtics on the other hand were penalized for being really good earlier than you’d expect for most teams before winning it all this year.

I don't think the Cs underachieved.

In fact, the Cs overachieved in 2017, 2018, 2020, and 2022.

The Cs started making the playoffs in 2016.

In 2017, that IT led Cs team went to the ECF even with a mediocre supporting cast around IT and Horford.

The 2018 Kyrie led Celtics didn't have Kyrie for the entire playoffs and they still made it to the ECF.

Both 2017 and 2018 teams also would not have beaten KD and Steph in the finals.

2019 was a disaster season as it was the Kyrie drama season.

After Kyrie left, the Cs was like in a quasi rebuild with Kyrie and Horford gone and in comes Kemba.
The expectations were not that high for that 2020 Cs team that reached the ECF.
You could say they overachieved.

The 2021 season was definitely a disappointment.

But the Cs surprised everybody by making the finals in 2022.

So from 2017 to 2024, it was only 2019 and 2021 that the Cs disappointed.

You can't count 2023 as underachieving because the Cs went down 0-3 against Miami.

Guess the Cs making the ECF in 2017, 2018, and 2020 really raised the expectations sky high.

I hate Embiid on the national team and his petty ass is bound to injure someone. Probably Tatum.

https://www.foxnews.com/sports/as-pitcher-records-win-without-facing-batter-statistical-anomaly

Oakland relief pItcher ends a tied 8th inning by picking a runner off base, and his team scores the next time they're up. So he gets credit for a won game without officially facing any batters.

I was always a fan of Atkinson. Good decision by the Cavs.

Florida win their first ever Stanley Cup.

Not a big NHL fan at all but it seemed like this season just dragged on and on and on
