Looks like we traded one pick and one swap, for 2 picks and 2 swaps.

Houston says "We see Brooklyn going all-in next year and being good in 2025-2026. We see Phoenix needing to get out of the 2nd Apron and take a step back."

It reads like 2026 Nets 1st for 2027 Phoenix 1st and 2025 Swap Rights on Non-BKN 1sts

This is the sort fo trading for your own pick back move that is very often proposed here but is surprising to see in real life.

Houston is deciding that the Nets might be good by 2026 while Phoenix is hosed going forward by 2027. The Nets prefer the option to compete or rebuild in their 2025 plan.

Can't say as I can follow this one quite yet.

Don't really like Houston moving for Durant.
I bought a boat.

Looks like the full deal is:

Houston receives:
2025 Suns 1st round swap
2027 Suns 1st round pick
2029 Suns OR Mavs 1st round swap
2029 Suns OR Mavs 1st round pick

Brooklyn receives:
2025 Nets 1st round swap
2026 Nets 1st round pick

per Salaman Ali

Yeah, 2029 swap being the lesser of the two for Houston's

I think I hate this

Houston is so good. That Harden Trade is exactly how you rebuild when a superstar asks out.

Nets Get-
2025 Swap Extinguished
2026 Pick Returned

Houston Gets-
Right to swap Hou/OKC 2025 with Suns 2025
Suns 2027 Unprotected
Best of Suns/Dal 2029 Unprotected
Right to swap Hou 2029 with worst of Suns/Dal 2029

Huge for Brooklyn. Great for Houston too.

Think I like this a bit more for Brooklyn, but if Houston can pull one of the Phoenix stars like Woj speculated who knows.

If Nets go full rebuild, the Nets 27 pick is now gonna be really good.

This could really pay off long term.

I don’t get this for Houston. Mikal was traded, you know that Brooklyn is gonna be horrible. Even if you want Durant those Brooklyn picks are probably more valuable at this point than the suns
