Considering our 2nd appron situation, is it realistic to get one of these guys? We have two picks 27 and 37, Moore, Minott and Miller contracts.

I'd say it's 100%, since we already have two of them.

Thank you, bro! You really made my day!

Mikael Bridges to the NYK for five (5) FRPs included four (4) Unprotected picks. HOU hilariously ends up as the real winners of the trade.

We got a bargain for Rudy, comparatively.

If Bridges gets 5 first round picks, we are gonna get an absolute haul for Kat.

LOL. Bridges > Towns and Bridges contract much cheaper than Towns.

Hey KATKlown,

Both Towns and Gobert are BETTER than Bridges.

I see you fail to mention that. ;)

Bridges has been beyond underwhelming since his hot streak (after his trade to Brooklyn) and his playoff stats are not all that great (very similar to Jaden) but IMO Bridges is a much weaker defender than Jaden especially in the playoffs.

That my original thought until I saw that Houston traded the Nets 25 and 26 pick and swap back to the Nets for Suns picks today. I don’t think the Nets make the Bridges trade without knowing they were getting their picks back.

Rockets clearly gunning for Durant or Booker, and they are assuming the Suns will want their picks back as part of a rebuild.

Remember when this was the narrative?

Not sure what you are saying, but if you are saying that two stars are better than one (even if that one star is a two way star, who never misses games, has a much cheaper contract and is younger), I might agree. But I'd love to trade KAT for Bridges straight up and I'm one of KAT's bigger fans. I'd also trade Rudy for Bridges, but I'd need a center back so if they resign Hartenstein and add him and Bridges, they can have Rudy.

Well, didn’t Bridges ask to be traded to the Knicks earlier this week? I would think that would change the team’s 6/14 position.

I don’t see Towns requesting a trade. Do you?

I also think some of you are over-rating Bridges. In Brooklyn, he had all the opportunity in the world, and he never made an All Star Game. His biggest draw is he plays a lot of minutes, but hasn’t been in the top ten in any category except turnovers.

Maybe he’ll be more valuable as a third option on a good team than a first option on a bad one? I think people became fascinated with him 4 years ago, when there weren’t as many 3-and-D players on the league, and they (smartly) haven’t watched the Nets much over the last few years.

Hoopshype Ranked him #60, and had this write up

2023-24 stats: 19.6 ppg, 4.5 rpg, 3.6 apg, 1.0 spg, 0.4 bpg, 43.6 FG%, 37.2 3P% in 82 games
Salary ranking: No. 70 ($21,700,000)

When Mikal Bridges first got to Brooklyn, there was a lot of excitement about the leap he made from being a role player in Phoenix to being a first option for the Nets. Bridges wasn’t able to build upon that or even match the numbers he put up in his first half-season with the Nets (26.1 points, 4.5 rebounds, 47.5 percent shooting) in 2023-24, falling to a slightly more mundane 20/4/3 stat line.

Regardless, those are solid numbers and his ranking on this list is right around what his salary is ranked league-wide, so star-leap-failure disappointment aside, Bridges remains one of the better two-way swingmen in the league with scoring prowess, especially from the midrange, and the ability to defend opposing stars on a nightly basis.

Nah, he was best shooter for Team USA with Ant on it. He and Ant would make a great duo. Bridges is one of the most underrated players in the league. Why was New York willing to give up four number ones? Because Bridges is a beast with a vast bag. With Bridges, Suns were in finals and trading Bridges and picks for KD, made the Suns worse. Bridges and Booker were a great duo. Bridges is the perfect complimentary piece to someone like Booker or Ant. KAT and Ant don't fit together all that well. KAT struggles on defense while Bridges is a stud defender. Rudy struggles on offense, but Bridges has got great range.

Bridges averages like 13 points in the playoffs, when Phoenix went to the finals he had like ONE big game in the finals and he was a year older than Jaden is now. If Kat ever averaged 13 points and 3 rebounds in the playoffs the entire NBA would be calling him a playoff bust :noway:

Nets fans are overjoyed with the haul of picks they got for Bridges, they were sick of him. I honestly think the Knicks overpayed just to get their Villanova gang back together (just to get bounced in second round again probably) LOL
It’s like the Knicks outbid themselves for no **** reason, No other team was going to pay 5 frps for Bridges.
