Of course they are. Nobody thought they wouldn't. They're incompetent and stupid. Possibly greedy. New coach/old coach. Trade Lebron/keep Lebron. Rebuild/get 3rd star......frankly none of it matters. This FO will dick it up, whichever path they choose. Until they chop off the head, it'll keep clucking like a chicken.

Bron was one of our top 3 point shooter and best player. Why wouldn’t we offer him 3 year max?

Lakers also look good to future stats after how we treated Kobe and Bron near retirement.

Because being our best player is actually an indictment of the organization, rather than a win for LeBron...

As long as that's a fact, we're a mediocre team at best... Sometimes you have to do the smart thing for the org, even if it means letting your best player walk...

I mean, we're not talking about 20yrs with the same franchise Kobe, here... LeBron's basically a journeyman, who's only ever been loyal to LeBron... We built a house of cards around him, not a future... There's no honor in being loyal to that...

WT story says Lebron willing to take less money to sign Harden, Klay Thompson or Jonas Valanciunas for the MLE.

I don't know if any of those players are ready to be ring-chasers but Nuggets may have needs for guards too if KCP leaves them.

Not really as it would likely mean no shot at competing for a title until the end of the decade. Lebron simply won't be good enough anymore to merit that much capspace and you have to figure that a couple years of rebuilding would follow him leaving the franchise.

We have too many guards. Jonas would be the only player I would have interest in and I doubt he settles for the MLE.

Saw on ESPN that if Bron’s number is $50 million for next season, the Lakers would be at the second apron.

That would prevent them from trading DLo’s expiring contract or combining with another contract for a big name player.

That’s according to Bobby Marks.

With the 1+1, Lebron could opt out after next season or after the 2025-26 season.

He may now prioritize becoming part owner of the Las Vegas expansion franchise. NBA could announce expansion in the next two years since they vastly increased their TV contract.

But the other wrinkle is that the Celtics are up for sale and one of the bidders is expected to be Fenway Sports Group, which owns the Boston Red Sox, Pittsburgh Penguins, Liverpool FC and some other teams around the world.

Guess who's an investor in the FSG?

But if he does become part of an ownership group of an NBA team, he has to retire ...
