This trade makes you again realize how KP was traded for peanuts, even with all the caveats

KP was traded for peanuts because he was walking regardless. We were lucky we got what we got for him. I hope we can stop all the wow look at that haul must be nice we didn't get anything for our stars. When we went in a position to. The FO did the best they could with the **** sandwich they were handed.closg00 wrote:This trade makes you again realize how KP was traded for peanuts, even with all the caveats

But like 4 unprotected picks and stuff for bridges by dog Kuz is definitely work half that if not a bit more.

All the blame lies in Tommy (and Ted behind him if he was insisting on not doing a reset)
The new team did a great job turning a negative Beal contract into real assets, and getting anything in S&T for Porzingas who had options to walk away to
Making extreme statements like "only" sounds like there are "no" Jokics in this draft? Jokic is an engine that was drafted in the 2nd round. Always a chance to see diamond dropped by sloppy burgular after a theft.

Re: Official Trade Thread Part XLVI
I've said this in the past, but the floor on a Kuzma trade is two first round picks. I don't expect a Bridges-like haul but I'm expecting two unprotected picks and a pick swap at the very least.

Re: Official Trade Thread Part XLVI
Apart from SAC, the Sixers may be also interested in trading for Kuzma and I think they are better positioned to give us the 2 picks our FO wants:
Kuzma to PHI
Reed+#16+2026 1st (worst of LAC, HOU and OKC)
I tried the Fanspo mock draft simulator this morning and Dillingham was still there at #16 for the taking
Also, Reed may be the right pairing for Sarr in our front court and is signed cheaply for 2 more years.
Say we select Dadiet at #26 (also available in the Fanspo simulator at #26), the roster for next year could be:
Poole/Dillingham/Butler
Bilal/Kispert/Davis
Deni/Dadiet
Sarr/PBJ
Reed/Tristan V/Bagley/Holmes
Obviously, Bagley & Holmes are redundant in this scenario and likely to be traded/cut by the trade deadline (together with Davis
).

That's a good trade.
I think Bagley is better than Reed, though. Not that it matters much. Neither guy is part of our future.

Don't delude yourself. If Kuz brings #13 this year plus salaries to match, that's a very good deal for us.

Overall, yes they did. The Beal deal was a real steal. I even agree with the "get whatever you can so we can move on" philosophy of resetting the team. But I'm with closg00 that the Porzingis deal was a weak return; especially when we gave away Morris who is a very similar player to our main return, Tyus Jones, for a single second. Bridges, for one example, said he was walking and would only go to the Knicks too.

I'll say.
Only... it's a whole lot more than Dallas offered. So far, that's the market -- & set by a team that felt a very immediate need.
Don't get me wrong -- the more we get the better! But high expectations seem to me to be in the way of a deal. &, in the end, we need to move Kuzma (or so it seems to me at least).

Then we take either Bagley or Holmes for Robinson and our pick back (or something like that).

Re: Official Trade Thread Part XLVI
Piggybacking off of a Draft Thread discussion that should probably go here. Here is a potential trade that combines a Kuzma to Sacramento deal, with an absorb Mitchell Robinson's salary for our pick back deal, plus I included New Orleans as a place to dump Robinson. I think every facet of the deal actually makes pretty good sense:
Washington trades: Kuzma, TPE
Washington receives: Dyson Daniels, Sasha Vezenkov, Trey Lyles, WAS 2025 FRP (top 10 prot), #13 pick
New York trades: Mitchell Robinson, WAS 2025 FRP (top 10 protected)
New York receives: nothing (top 55 protected SRP)
Sacramento trades: Sasha Vezenkov, Trey Lyles, #13 pick
Sacremento receives: Kyle Kuzma
New Orleans trades: Dyson Daniels
New Orleans receives: Mitchell Robinson
The only caveat is that the Knicks might be able to offload Robinson somewhere without having to include a pick, I dunno. The deal also works if Sacramento sends out Barnes or Huerter in place of Lyles. Indeed, we might be able to flip one of those guys to Detroit if it worked out that way.
It's a sweet deal for us. We turn Kuzma and cap room in to Daniels and the #13 while getting back our FRP.

That would be an awesome move if they could pull it off. One thing, Sac LOVES Lyles.
Sac would much prefer to move Vezenkov, Mitchell, Duarte or if needed Huerter. I would still be good in this case.

Yeah, and if we got Huerter, we could probably just give him to Detroit for cap room if we wanted to clear out books a bit.
Imagine adding Sarr, Dyson Daniels, Edey and KJ Simpson to the roster this summer!

Yes, good trade proposal Nate.
A Daniels/Bilal/Deni/Sarr quartet could be a terror defensively, all of them 6'7" plus in height with long arms.

I'm fine with either Huerter or Vezenkov/Duarte; Lyles isn't important to us at this point.

If this draft ends with Kuzma still on the team, I will be very disappointed.
