Let's say no injury in 09 and titles in 09&10. Everything after that the same. Gets 1 or 2 fmvps.

KG is the most overrated player in history. Dude won just 2 playoff series in 12 years with the T-Wolves. Dude had 7 consecutive 1st round exits. SEVEN!!!! Dude never scored over 40 points in a playoff game and only had 9 games of 30+ points in 143 playoff games. Jordan had more 40+ point games in the playoffs after 4 career playoff games than KG has in his career. Dude couldn’t win until he paired up with PP and Ray Allen and only won one title at that. Dude was a second fiddle masquerading as an alpha for 15 years. He’s not top 30 all time let alone top 10. It’s criminal how much he’s overrated. Barkley, Karl Malone, Duncan, Dirk, Giannis etc sh-t all over KG’s skinny ass.

I love these posts when you can't tell if it's B-grade Satire or real.

 A refreshing humour for the day, though I agree with some of what you said.

KG is top 15, taking everything into account, and this forum has done a great job covering it. You are right about his lack of scoring being a big negative for him and it is impossible to rank him higher. Russell, a good and often used comparison to Garnett, won unlike anyone else and though his teams were among the most talented, they didn't seem to win much without him. He was the best defender ever, quite indisputable and Garnett at his size having an average rim protection ability really lowers him as well.

He floor raised some but there are others, some frequently ranked behind him, that raised better, such as Robinson, Olajuwon and Moses. Garnett had some talent on his TWolves teams and yet he lost in the 1st round so much. Had he had won one or two series before 2004 it paints him a little differently.

Well, here’s I think how I would land:

I still don’t think he’d be above Jordan, LeBron, Kareem, Duncan, or Russell for me. They all just would still have too much history of achievement and significance in the game to be put below KG for me.

But then beyond that it gets a lot harder. To me, there’s kind of a next tier of players that broadly-speaking includes (in no particular order): Bird, Kobe, Magic, Shaq, Steph, Wilt, and Hakeem. KG would fall somewhere in there (whereas, for me, he currently falls somewhere in the tier just after those guys). For me I think a three-peat would put Garnett above Wilt and Hakeem—the combination of team achievement in the game and his great impact numbers would be too much for them IMO. So that leaves Bird, Kobe, Magic, Shaq, and Steph. I think the combination of impact data and longevity would put him above Bird for me. Similarly, the impact stuff would get him above Kobe at that point for me, as well. So I think he’d be right up there with Magic, Shaq, and Steph, and my ordering of those guys would probably be pretty fluid and not set in stone. Where KG fell there would also probably depend a bit on the exact performances he had in the playoffs along the way. The more memorable his performances in those title wins, the more likely he’d be to go above some or all of those guys. Absent some memorable dominant performances in those wins, he’d probably end up at or near the bottom of that tier of player. Which is to say there’s a good chance he ends up 9th, but could be as high as 6th depending on the exact details of how well he did in the title runs we’re adding.

I’d be more comfortable putting him ahead of Duncan, which I already kind of do (or at least I go back and forth on them a lot).

Duncan isn’t Duncan if he goes to Minnesota. KG played for an inept franchise for the majority of his career. If the 08-10’ Celtics had 03-05’ KG they’re a dynasty.
