I really rate Mikal, Knicks are tough as-is if they sign OG and Hartenstein. Not saying we couldn't/wouldn't beat them in a 7 game series, but they are seriously tough.

We'll cross that Mikal Bridge when we get there.

Good for the Knicks, but I feel like if they keep OG and Randle too, this could be a case of diminishing returns by having way too many wings, similar to when we had Brogdon, White, and Smart.

Thibs is a great coach and if they keep OG he is going to finally have a roster that matches his personality and is talented enough to make a legit run. The picks are worthless to a hard capped team as deep as NY is now so if I was a Knicks fan I wouldn’t care if it’s an overpay. The Celtics have some competition in the East.
"I think the criticism's stupid," Stevens said. "So I don't care. I'm with Jaylen (Brown) on that. Those two had achieved more than most 25 and 26 year olds ever had. I'd rather be in the mix and have my guts ripped out than suck."

Maybe I’m still drunk from the Championship Champagne, but if that’s the New York big splash then I’m not worried.

SuperDeluxe wrote:Knicks going all in, sacrificing the future to become contenders now. That was a lot to give for Bridges tho. Thing is, if they end up losing Anunoby for nothing, what just happened would amount to trading Anunoby for Bridges, then flushing a truckload of picks down the toilet. Hartenstein is also not guaranteed to resign.

Having said that, they may not be done. They still have about $40M in tradeable salary (Randle and Robinson) so they may be onto something.

Hard capped on that tradeable salary though so options are still limited if they can't resign their guys. Unless they want to just dump either of those 2 for bench players and hope it's addition by subtraction.

It’s gonna be a tough, 7-game ECF. More fun! (If we win, that is)

I think the Knicks made a good trade. They gave up a ton of picks but when I was making the post-mortems on the GB I noticed they had a ton of picks and was thinking they kinda needed to do something with them. I believe they still have 5 firsts in the next 3 drafts even after this trade.

It'll be interesting to see what happens with OG, Hartenstein, Randle etc but for now they made their team better by adding Bridges.

All that said, aside from Brunson it kinda feels like the Knicks have a poor man's version of the Celtics at every position. And I'm not too worried about Jrue and Derrick handling Brunson.

What happens to 2nd apron teams traded picks? I assume they still get stuck at the end of the first, regardless of where they end up in the standings? So even if the Knicks suck in 2029, if they are over the 2nd apron, the BKN received pick would also suck?

Asking for a guy who was concerned about having top 1 instead of top 4 protection on a 2029 pick swap from a possible second apron team. Purely hypothetical, no names need be mentioned.

Eff the Knicks. They have not been relevant for 50 years if ever. Oh look at us, we must be good we are in NY. No, you suck.

Knicks look like the second best team in the league to me.
