They need to sign OG and Hartenstein to be legit contenders.

Right now, I’d say they’re fringe contenders but they’ve got moves to make. Signing OG/Hartenstein and then potentially moving on from Randle would make them very dangerous.

The Knicks overpaid like crazy for Mikal Bridges but if they can bring back OG they'll have the best defensive forward duo assembled since Pippen/Rodman.

Bridges and OG 's defensive styles complement each other as well. Bridges excels against the quick players whereas OG is a better physical defender.

I'm guessing bridges would play SG though:

PG: DamnSon
Sg: Bridges
SF: OG
PF: Julius
C: Hardenstein

Pretty legit team.

Normally I would say no, but the league is so bad right now, you never know.

Need to bring back OG.

They will be able to keep only one of iHart or Mitch it looks like.

My guess is if iHart agrees to sign, they trade Mitch.

It would be great to keep everyone, of course.

Healthy Boston team still beats them as constructed. The Champs are too much for the east.

The Knicks on paper (assuming they keep OG) will be great defensive team. Mikal adds a perfect 3 and D complement as a tandem with OG.

Still have concerns with them offensively. Maybe spacing will be better with Bridges. IMO Brunson and Randle may not have the best chemistry together.

The Knicks have the makings to be a contender in the EC, but I still have the Celtics as the favorite in the East for now.

I'm big on defense wins championships....assuming they re-sign OG they'll have one of the best defenses in the league, that'll allow them to have a chance at beating any team in a series. You can throw OG and Bridges on Tatum/Brown for example. The Mavs didn't have that ability.

You all keep on saying If they keep OG ... I think they got Bridges just In case they lose him??? I Don't think they're keeping OG, They might want to offer him something large If they want to keep him - got to be the max :)

Clear cut #2 team in the East now with that Bridges move. Boston still top but they are creating considerable distance between them and the next tier (Bucks/Sixers, if healthy). Depending on what they do with Randle (or if Randle stays, buys into what they are doing and that he realizes that his scoring is welcome in this roster but his defense is what they need), they could match Boston's quality.
If there is no basketball in heaven, i am not going.

It's already reported they want to re-sign OG....it wouldn't make sense to mortgage your future on Bridges and then let OG walk away...if the goal is a championship then they'll want both on their team.

Lots of talent, but not sure they have that ONE guy. Theres only been one 2004 Pistons. I like Brunson but I would still contend hes a 2. Also like Bridges but... I would also contend hes a 2. We will see if they can make it all work without a true super star.

They remind me of the Pistons of the early 2000's... a young version. No true superstar but damn good and built on D. If they breaks right... who knows what happens.

love it - the league is always better when the Knicks are good and the Garden is buzzin...

they look like the clear 2nd best team in the east right now.
lets see what philly and milwaukee do to counter.

How much of a superstar did the Boston Celtics have in the most recent nba playoff?

I like where the Knicks are going, theres something there. They are a matchup nightmare when healthy now (assuming they also bring back OG).
