Knicks Still Prioritize Re-Signing OG Anunoby, Likely To Lose Isaiah Hartenstein

The New York Knicks continue to prioritize re-signing OG Anunoby in free agency following their trade for Mikal Bridges, sources tell Ian Begley of SNY.tv. The Knicks, however, are increasingly unlikely to be able to afford to re-sign Isaiah Hartenstein. 

The Knicks can only offer Hartenstein up to a four-year deal worth $72.5 million as they hold his Early Bird rights. Hartenstein could command a contract that exceeds that amount on the open market. Hartenstein is represented by Drew Morrison and Aaron Mintz of CAA.

New York is not limited on what they can offer Anunoby as they own his full Bird rights. Anunoby is also represented by multiple CAA clients in Morrison, Austin Brown and Sam Rose.

I'd supposed a rival team can either sign Hartenstein using cap space or pursue a S&T with the Knicks.

Since I do not see any team jumping out to sign a 25mpg player to big money using cap space at the moment. Hartenstein's options outside of re-signing with the Knicks is actually quite limited.

If Hartenstein wants to bet on himself, he can re-sign for a 1-year $16m deal and test the market again next summer.
