UTA/ATL/LAL

Post#1 » by AingesBurner » Wed Jun 26, 2024 2:23 am

Utah out: Sexton, Clarkson, Hendricks, #10, #29, #32, CLE #25, 2nd best of Utah 27 1st, better of CLE/MIN swap, and a 2nd
Utah in: Trae

ATL out: Trae
ATL in: Clarkson, Hendricks, JHS, lakers filler, #10, #17, CLE #25, 2nd best 27 Utah 1sts, better of CLE/MIN swap, unprotected Lakers swap, and future Utah 2nd

LAL out: JHS, filler, #17, and unprotected 28 swap
LAL in: Sexton and #29

Why for Utah: Fill our PG needs

Why for ATL: Get a decent amount of picks and a prospect. Trade up with 10 and 17 to a higher pick

Why for LAL: Get a PG that played well last year on the cheap

a number of teams should blow that offer out of the water, and if they don't, Atlanta shouldn't trade Trae

What teams?

just off the top of my head, SAS and Houston have real value pieces they can send, rather than chucking a quarter and a fistful of nickels at Atlanta. And if Atlanta wants to trade Trae for a ton of nickels, I think Orlando, NOLA, and others would jump on it.

I definitely hope so.

I’m baffled by this trade proposal. OP is well known for replying “Jazz easily pass” on most trades that don’t have the Jazz winning by a ton. But to then offer a king’s ransom (by a team that needs to keep its powder dry for a real difference maker) for a non-winning, zero defensive, below efficient chucker like Trae would be franchise suicide. It would accomplish nothing and set the team back years on their goal of competing.

Said in reference to Utah's trade assets in a potential Doncic deal.

Doesnt work for LAL as the filler needs to be Vincent + another filler, or Rui to make it legal

Yes Trae who averages 26/9 for his career (top 15 all time in both currently) has led Hawks to ECF and playoffs 3 of the last 4 years as a #1 with zero all star teammates (outside of 1 time all star Murray who he has bad net ratings with) is a non winning player.

Funny how Trae can lead 4 top 10 offenses in row and some of the highest rated offenses of all time but the narrative for so many is he is inefficient chucking guard. Hawks aren't doing this anyway....nothing appealing in that package for Trae.
