Eason's the perfect guy to buy low on. Still young, huge Per-36 numbers, probably not available (if he is) had he not been injured. I can't imagine the Bucks would be able to get him and #3 for Middleton, but that would be a dream move.

Re: Bucks News, Transactions, Trade Ideas - Darvin Returns
If Houston is becoming myopic in their pursuit of a high level wing, and wants to keep their bevy of future picks for the likes of KD or Booker, then
Mke: 3, Whitmore, Eason
Hou: Midds
I’d then either draft Reed or dangle 3 for 7, 14, and Thybulle. Draft Holland at 7 and Missi at 14. That’s a ton of youth, so I wouldn’t want 23 or 33 anymore, so you could package those later picks with Bobby and see what it turns up.

Yeah, Eason's already legit. It's the #3 pick and Dillon Brooks that would be getting moved to a 3rd team because that nets you another really good starter. Because **** Dillon Brooks and keep him away from Milwaukee.

I could definitely see Eason make a Danny Granger like leap.

Maybe you all think Giannis/Dame is enough to win a title, but it takes three as far as I’m concerned.
You're not rolling the dice, you're trusting your work. This isn't craps, it's a competitive sport.
There’s nothing about Tari Eason that says he’s anything more than a role player. So yeah, I’d say trading a bonafide 3 for him is rolling the dice.
So you're gambling on Tari Eason and the #3 overall pick not getting any better? Or is it just that you don't believe in them?

Sell high. Buy low.
We might have a sell high player on our roster.
My only reservation on that Houston deal is I don’t want Dillon Brooks on the roster.
Wonder if Clippers would want him for Norm Powell or something
Make the calls Horst.

Reading up on Eason — ‘bigger Josh Hart’ comparison got my attention:
https://www.thedreamshake.com/2024/5/10/24151721/houston-rockets-2023-2024-season-in-review-tari-eason
While the 2023-24 Houston Rockets season is unequivocally a success, it still feels incomplete due to what, or rather who, was missing. Unfortunately, a pre-season leg injury compounded into season ending surgery and postponed a Tari Eason takeover.
This projected to be a breakout year for Eason as he figured to be a focal point in the second unit. He was a sneaky Sixth Man of the Year candidate, speaking personally, given all the areas he’s capable of impacting the game.
Even though it may look erratic at times, Eason’s hard-nosed style of play produces results. It’s played a major factor into endearing him to the city and it’s no coincidence that his relentless mentality melds well with Ime Udoka’s get down.
Ideally, I see Eason utilized in a similar manner to how the New York Knicks have deployed Josh Hart this postseason. Just imagine the numbers that Hart could put up with an additional three inches of height and five inches of wingspan. That’s what a healthy Tari Eason could project to be.

I also don't think Houston gives up all that for Middleton, so again, we're at the crossroads of most realistic trades end with us being worse off by trading him. Like, I'd trade Khris for Terrence Mann, Norm Powell, and some 2nd's before I'd do some of these dog-water trades where we're getting nothing but question marks back (picks, young prospects who haven't proved enough). Churros is right, the whole point of breaking up Middleton's $30 million is that you need to get at least one proven starter-ish dude back, with an additional asset. Not just tradeable assets.

On the other hand, Mikal Bridges was just traded for like 5 unprotected picks.

That bad of an attitude / that delusional about his offensive role?
Otherwise on paper Bucks need all the wing defenders we can get.
Probably could send Brooks to a third team though if he’s just not worth the drama. If Houston is trading #3 as part of this deal maybe they recoup some amount of that value too and the Bucks get some other contract filler. Or it’s a bigger move involving Bobby / Lopez / whoever.

It all depends on this Durant smoke and if that goes anywhere.
And I’d add Brook into the mix if needed.

Houston wants to Win, Houston sucks on offense and Houston needs someone to come in and work with Jalen Green on shot selection and IQ.
I think it's entirely possible they somewhat overpay for Middleton. It could legitimately work out for both teams.

This draft is unbelievably thin and I’d be pretty surprised if there’s a future All Star in the lottery.
Eason just doesn’t interest me. You’d be asking him to play the 3 unless you’re shifting Giannis to the 5 and he’s well below league average from an efficiency standpoint. It’s a massive downgrade on offense.

The going price for a near all star level player since the Jrue trade is like 4 first round picks. It just is what it is.
Middleton kind of fits the bill based on his playoff performance.
1 former top 10
1 top 10 in a terrible draft
Bad contract
Seems very fair

Who are you immediately turning around and trading the 3rd pick for in all these multiple draft day trade scenarios though? Timing is everything here and if even one piece of these trades fall apart, you're left with drafting a guy with that pick that you never intended to use. Feels like you guys aren't really factoring this in at all. Once you draft someone for yourself, that pick instantly loses a good amount of its value (the "second you drive a new car off the lot" parallel).

Re: Bucks News, Transactions, Trade Ideas - Darvin Returns
Playing with Eason trade frameworks where we get Bruce Brown instead of Dillon Brooks.
Putting aside what picks change hands: FanSpo says contracts work if we get Brown + Eason for Middleton.
We shave $4.9M in that scenario if that’s enough to get us beneath the 2nd apron too.
Or it’s a bigger trade with Lopez — maybe even involving a 4th team — this one we cut $7.3M:
Bucks trade: Middleton, Lopez, TBD picks
Bucks receive: Eason, Brown, Steven Adams, Jack Londale, TBD picks
Rockets trade: Eason, Adams, Londale, TBD picks
Rockets receive: Middleton, TBD picks
Raptors trade: Bruce Brown, TBD picks
Raptors receive: Dillon Brooks, TBD picks

3/Eason/Brooks is the first idea I'd even entertain.
I wouldn't do it, but I'd think about it for a bit.
