They'll still have Tax MLE available + BAE (because they didn't use it last season). But problem is, they'll be operating incredibly close or even above the 1st apron because there are rumors that a player is almost guaranteed coming back in that trade.
They could avoid that if DJJ commands much less money than everyone is anticipating. Any wiggle room with trades would then increase a bit but don't expect any significant trades unless Nico really cooked up some magic or any team out there is desperate enough to take on salary cap (for some weird reason).
No, when u use the full mle on DJJ, u will not have taxpayer mle and hard cap on 1st apron
Yes u will still have BAE around 4.5m can sign a role player
But it is already very near the 1st apron
And u still need to leave some room to sign vet min player to fullfill the 15 player at the end of season

TAX 5.2M MLE is available at 1st apron but not at 2nd and so is BAE. But using both would basically shoot you into the 2nd. That's why people speculate that Mavs won't use it.

Now mavs is 13 players with salary 174.8m which is over luxury tax 171.3m, so can only use 5.2m tmle
Assume trade thj for air to go under tax line and resign DJJ on non-taxpayer mle
Then new 13 players salary become 174.8m-16.2m+12.9m=171.5m which is 7.1m under 1st apron hard cap (178.6m)
On thj trade, u may have 16.2m trade player exception, but u can only use maximum 7.1m of it because u cannot go above 1st apron no matter what reason
U may also choose another way, use BAE 4.6m & 2m vet min for 14 & 15 players, result still under hard cap
Actually the cap rule is even more difficult to do, e.g. irving have 1m likely incentive and 1m unlikey incentive, pjw have 0.5m unlikely incentive
When do the hard cap, u need to take care the unlikely incentive problem
