What's Durant to Houston look like?

Post#1 » by shagadelic45 » Wed Jun 26, 2024 1:23 pm

With Houston trading for PHX's picks from BKY.....allegedly to trade for KD.....what would that trade look like?

Woj waling it back by saying '.... or booker!' a few minutes later makes me think it was some speculation. I don't think Houston is chasing KD very hard, if they could get a good deal on him thats one thing, but don't see that happening at this point in time

It's gotta be Jabari Smith, #3 along with our picks back. At the least. Dillion Brooks in there for cap purposes I'd assume as well.

Suns don’t own their picks.. forget the few picks Houston own, remember phx traded a bunch of swaps to nets/grizz/washington.

Any KD deal is not pick based, it’s gotta be players based, likely involving 3 teams

Houston beat reporters are saying that the Rockets are not chasing Durant and are likely to just stay the course with the core 6.

National reporters are just posting clickbait.

Assuming Phoenix is trying to remain competitive rather than just get their picks back...I wonder about a deal with the Jazz where Lauri + Dillon Brooks + Kessler end up in Phoenix, KD in Houston, and some combination of Houston's assets (Green/Smith/#3/PHX picks/other picks) ends up in Utah.

Kessler
Lauri
Brooks
Booker
Beal

I think Durant is a smoke screen. Houston is young, why would a 36 year old be their big move? I think Booker is the real target

Both of you forgot that the picks the Rockets own is the ones the Suns gave straight up to BRK. Those swap picks have nothing to do with anything, Crives.

As to the trade, Kessler's value has fallen. Alot. He won't be factoring into a KD trade as something major. Lauri is nice but not enough. Unless you mean the Suns get all of that plus get their picks back still....?

Yes they would have their pick every other year.. but the other years their picks are still tied up with frizz/wash

OK..... but the Suns now get 25,27 and 29 back. That's the reason the Rockets did that trade. So they can send that stuff to us for KD or Booker....

I'm not sure KD has the juice to return Lauri and ALL their picks back, but probably some of them.

The Rockets swooping in and getting the Suns picks right before the reports come out about the Suns wanting to trade Durant.

I doubt the Rockets have serious interest in Durant unless it’s a bargain deal (same as their interest was in Bridges).

I think they have more interest in the picks becoming valuable with Durant gone from the Suns. AND how attractive they could be in a Booker deal.

If something happens before the draft, number 3 must be involved. If I were the Rockets I would just wait for the price to go down closer to the trade deadline.

Yeah I mean it's fun to speculate, but these teams are on two wildly different timelines which doesn't make for an easy deal.

That's not credible. The only reason to trade Brooklyn's picks for the Suns picks is to chase someone on the Suns roster. Otherwise, that trade is really bad for the Rockets.

Not true. It also gives Houston an ability to be a 3rd team and suck value.

The odds of the Nets being better than the Suns this year and next are very, very low. You don't downgrade assets like that for the opportunity to be a theoretical 3rd team.
