PG walking in for just cap space made up for his age. Trading assets for him hurts that as we need those to fill out the roster.

thus he is less appealing in a S&T

also I suspect that yeah he'd rather stay in the west and Balmer takes care of his people and probably would do so here.

Could live with 35M. 40M is a little far. But don’t the Knicks pretty much have to max him now? If I’m them, I add Robinson to BKN into the Bridges trade (Bojan maybe to another team like CHA?) and then just go all in and re-sign OG and Hartenstein.

Is that possible if PG doesn't want to be here? I seriously doubt Ballmer would trade him to a place he doesn't want to be. Doesn't usually happen like that in the NBA.

Bridges requested a trade to the Knicks. If he requesed a trade to the Sixers, he'd be a Sixer.

There has been no report that PG13 does not want to come here. He is reported as wanting a max deal. We will give it to him.

If he opts out and does a S&T Ballmer would send him here before GS. If he opts in to allow a trade to happen, again we win out over GS from an asset standpoint.

Trading for PG is far less desirable than just signing him outright.

Feels like things are trending toward one of Ingram or Anunoby + KCP.

I'm thinking we're making a pick tonight for some team and the trade will be announced shortly after.

Of Course there is no report he doesnt want to come here. His camp needs to leave the Sixers out here as a possible outright signing as leverage to force LAC to agree to trade him where he wants.

But those five minutes of having Ron Holland is going to be so, so sweet.

Yea, at this point, would be really happy with either one. The latest Vegas odds I saw on Paul George still have it as likely that he stays in LA, but us or the Magic have a non-trivial chance. If there is no trade tonight, I assume we are waiting until FA and rolling the dice.

I will crash out if he's the one we trade lol

I can almost deal with one of the guard guys being moved due to their fit with Maxey.

I am not even sure if Holland is any good lol but getting a legit wing prospect is what I have wanted for years lol

I think given the two options, I'm going the OG route. Keep picks, hopefully have enough space to be competitive with other high level FA, and really hope Maxey takes an insane jump.

I'm just having a real hard time trading draft capital then giving $50+ mil to Ingram next year.

In that scenario would we have the space to move the picks for a Cam or one of the other lower level options discussed earlier? Smart, DFS ect.

If you want to lose a fan base, this is the perfect way to do so. On one had, you can argue that the Celtics have one more year with the super team, then it's wide open in the East. But it's a bit hard to swallow after doing the entire process, suffering through multiple FO regimes as they completely burned Embiid's prime, then be asked to be patient again with a tabula rasa roster consisting of two all star talents, a bunch of picks and an assload of cap space? If we have essentially a remake of last year's roster going into next season, Morey should be fired.

Yeah punting on another year would be a catastrophe. We can’t keep waiting around every year to hopefully hit a grand slam move that wins us a title. Build a good team this offseason and make incremental improvements from here. This has to be the year where we build a solid foundation for the next 3-4 years.
