Maybe we keep Mitch and Randle through this upcoming run as they were two of our OG's...

Total 183,9 (9 players)
Full roster (plus 6 2M players in the better scenario) = 196M

We are already hard capped into the first (178) or into the second apron (188M).

Not sure if the trade has been finalized yet so we don't know if we'll be hard capped or not. We could be including some minimum deals to prevent that.

If we do not include more salary in the trade, we will be hard-capped in the first apron because the incoming (Mikal) is higher than the outcoming salary (.

If we add salary in the trade, we will be hard-capped in the second apron because we attached salaries in the trade.

This first and second apron is like reading DnD rules, when it comes to caveats....

Donte is a sixth man now but I love this shoot you to death lineup too:

Brunson
DDV
Bridges
OG
Randle

What a f*ing team! If OG is injured again, we’re still loaded.

Is the percieved reluctance to using Randle as a small ball 5 more Thibs wanting a Rim Protector or Randle not wanting to be a 5 at all? :dontknow:

Embiid is a great player, at best he can be slowed down a little bit. Mitch does as good a job slowing him down as one can hope but not reliable to be available when we might need him either. Like seriously what are the odds if we face Philly in the playoffs again that Mitch will even be able to play? 50% 40%?

Thoughts on Bamba? Cheap, can spread the floor, and maybe Thibs can work some of that big man magic on him.

Who else is going to give OG the max? The Knicks don't need to immediately jump and give him the max.

Those are actually good enough odds to keep him.

I think Thibs wants a legit 7 footer. He will play Randle at the 5 and he did last year. However, that was a sh.itshow.

BTW, Randle slimmed down last year because he wanted to be agile to attack the rim. Not sure if he will put on the weight that he did a few years ago.

To keep OG, iHart, and Robinson... we'd likely have to trade all our picks this year and let Precious (and Burks) walk. I'm not opposed to kicking the picks forward if it means we can retain all three guys.

Wait how much money do they have to spend if they let Precious and Burks walk?

I've said it a few times and will say it again: the way the new rules are structured, it's extremely likely we will need to move Julius. The league no longer wants teams loaded with multiple stars (or players being paid as "stars"). That would be us with Brunson, Bridges, OG, and possibly iHart. Also, with the addition of Mikal, there won't be enough shots for everyone.

Prepare yourself for the possibility that the KNICKS may have no other financial choice but to move on from Julius.

Knicks can run this core with Randle this season and next... then they may have to make tough decisions on a guy like Randle. Not there yet... Let's win one in this 2 year window first.

He's not spreading the floor because the league as a whole don't respect that shot.

Jalen Smith from Indiana?

Return to New York Knicks
