Re: 2024 Draft - Who you got?
My Wolves board (for who I think will be available). This is who I like and think will have the best career.
AJ MITCHELL
DaRon Holmes
Jonathan Mogbo
Baylor Scheierman
Tyler Kolek
Adem Bona
If we can trade up, I would select Kyshawn George.
I also like Nunez and Freeman but not where we pick.

Re: 2024 Draft - Who you got?
Guys I like tonight
Jared McCain - I know we will have to trade way up, but I think he's perfect for this team
Johnny Furphy
Kel'el Ware
Baylor Scheierman - he's my pick for the first "holy crap he went way higher than we thought" pick. The shooting, passing, and rebounding are unreal.
Ajay Mitchell
Cam Christie
A.J. Johnson - but only at 37 and if Minnesota gets a solid pick - like Baylor - at 27
Justin Edwards - this year's GG
Harrison Ingram
KJ Simpson - I love his shooting. I could even accept taking him at 27.
Enrique Freeman - kind of looks like Naz, but somehow older.
Guys I hate
Terrence Shannon worries me.
Tyler Kolek will be just ok. I hope for better.
Kyshawn George - he reminds me of Minott - average college player who should be better but never it.
Jamal Shead - worried he won't shoot.
Juan Nunez - worried he never comes over.
Deron Holmes - I think Miller is better so Holmes will live in Des Moines too long.
My prediction
Cam Christie - 1st
Harrison Ingram - 2nd

Re: 2024 Draft - Who you got?
Since we're doing boards. I'll limit it to guys I think are realistic for us (so no McCain, Carter or Holland, no matter how much I like them)
Guys I Like
Jamal Shead - Defensive tone setter, creative floor general and a relentless downhill attacker. The only issue is the shot but the form is good, he just needs more arc on it. Not sure of his ceiling but am confident he's a 10-year NBA guy.
Ajay Mitchell - Notable as the only prospect who came here twice. A 6-5ish combo guard with impressive passing abilities and crafty scoring. 3pt shot volume is a little low but he's great from the line so not too worried. Outside of that, he's a perfect fit with Ant; able to both run an offence and move off the ball when Ant's creating, then combine with his size and defensive skills to mean he's not a liability on that end.
Kyle Filipowski - I know bigs are far from a need for us but dribble-pass-shoot ones don't grow on trees. I like him as a long-term replacement for KAT and think his defence is better than advertised.
Jaylon Tyson - Dribble-pass-shoot wing with good physical tools. I like his motor too. Long term I can see him as an offensive option off the bench to give Ant a break.
Zyon Pullin - Similar player to Monte Morris; good defender, excellent passer with elite AST: TO, great shooter, limited scorer. Not sure he's an actual draftable prospect but makes sense as a 2-way.
N'Faly Dante - Older guy with injury concerns but an elite defensive big that's worth taking a flier on.
Baylor Scheierman - Elite 3-point shooter who moves well off the ball and has a lot of great secondary skills in terms of passing and rebounding. The only worry is with the defence although he plays smart on that end which is likely to go a long way to getting him minutes under Finch.
Isaiah Collier - I'll toss him in, although only just (equally because I'm not 100% on him and not sure if he'll be available). I love the speed and rim-finishing abilities, even if he is less vertical than we'd like. I also think USC was a horrible situation so it's fair to give him some slack for some of his issues (there are still turnover concerns, for example, but some of them were due to butter finger teammates). The shot sucks and needs serious work but he's fun in the open court and I'm hoping long-term that the team can tap into transition offence more, so getting a one-man fast break would be a boon.
Guys I Don't
Cam Christie - His lack of touch scares the hell out of me. His floater/at-rim percentages were god-awful this season and that can't just be explained away with him being skinny. The shooting is good and the defensive effort is nice but he feels like a guy that provides value to the 2nd or 3rd team he's on.
Terrence Shannon Jr - I could never get there with him. He just seemed more physically developed and experienced than others at the college level, without actually having the level of skill required to be the star some paint him to be. I also wasn't a fan of his defensive effort, but he is an elite athlete even by NBA standards and I could see him having enough skills to stick for a while.
Kyshawn George - Absolutely no burst, either vertically or horizontally. Good shooter and passer but I don't see him having any ability to beat guys off the dribble or stick with them defensively. He got by with his length in college; that's not going to fly in the NBA. I think he's out of the league by the end of his rookie contract.
Dillon Jones - Like Shannon, I just can't get there with him. He reminds me a lot of David Roddy, which isn't good. I just don't see what he does at the NBA level. Maybe passing? But defensively I've got huge concerns, his footspeed isn't great on either end, he's not vertical at all which will cause him issues finishing and I didn't see the off-ball skills (like cutting) from him that he'll need to be a role player. He's essentially a slow, unathletic, ball-dominant PG with no shooting ability.
Oso Ighodaro - I want to like Oso because his passing is fun but overall I don't think he's good enough at the big man skills, like rebounding and rim protection, to wind up being an overall positive.
Rob Dillingham - I'll throw him here because there's talk of him dropping. I'd avoid him like the plague. I don't see him ever being good enough defensively to justify having him on the court, because I don't see his offence as being at the transcendent level others seem to. I expect he'll have a Brandon Jennings-style career; explode early, with people posting the highlights of a 50-point game to talk about how stupid everyone was for passing on him, then slowly fade into obscurity as teams realise he's an overall net negative.

IMO, he will be the steal of this draft with MPJ being his floor in the NBA. If he slides past 15, Connelly needs to work his magic to move up for him.

I think Dillingham has most star potential in the draft and think Castle is most sure thing.
I think it's a weaker crop of foreign players that are being over drafted due to a bad crop of college players.
My fav player we have a slim chance of getting is Carrington however unlikely it may be (maybe if we can package our picks and trade up?). I think Mavs exposed our need for another playmaker beyond Ant. Carrington doesn't have a ton of juice, but seems steady enough and I think with his youth and developing body he has some upside. Reminds me of Markelle Fultz but hopefully without his mental block/shooting woes.
Assuming we can't trade up, then as a back up plan I'd be cool with waiting on Ajay Mitchell who sometimes looks like a younger, skinner Jamal Murray without range. He is an adept ball handler that is not afraid to attack which I think is precisely what we need.
Of the old guys that might be around at 37, I like Larson and McCullough the most. Both seem like heady two-way role players that fill up the stat sheet. Long term I'd rather bet on McCullough developing a consistent jumper over Scheierman developing better lateral quickness, though I'll admit with Scheirman it'd be fun to see Finch open up the playbook a little more.
I hope you're right about Dillingham.

It happens. It feels like the wolves hit a bullseye again in the draft , it’s like 2020 all over again with Ant/Jaden. Except this time they have a chance to hit on the third pick as well with either Filipowski/Smith/Djurisic/Furphy/Bona unlike that Bolmaro pick.

Shannon was just gravy on top of another Connelly masterpiece for me. Our potential bench scoring with Reid, Dillingham and Shannon is very exciting.

Now add size with pick 37. Or package Moore with 37 to move up.
Love Dillingham, wasn't a huge fan of Shannon - more to do with size at SF then him as a player. It's just more juice off the bench.
Best big players left?
Filipowski
Chomche
Bona (even though he's short, Ben Wallace vibes)

I feel like Filipowski is better offensively and Bona better defensively. Tyler Smith is fluid for 6’10 though and has a great stroke from three, I hope he falls to 37.
Chomche is a total project.

I don't disagree on Chomche. But we need to add some type of size/physicality to the roster. Dallas killed us at the rim, partly because after Rudy we have nothing at the 5 to board or block shots. All of them have limitations, just like to see us address the issue. I wouldn't consider Smith a rim protector, but more of a stretch 4 with a better shot than Miller.
How I see depth chart right now (me, not Wolves)
PG - Conley Jr, Dilly Dilly
SG - Ant, Naw, Shannon, Clark, Moore
SF - McDaniels, Minott, Miller
PF - Kat, Naz
C - Rudy

Talk to me about Quentin Post... Because what I'm seeing is a legit 7 ft + 250+ luka Garza with better shot blocking and passing. Good UDFA guy or will he not make it that far?

Re: 2024 Draft - Who you got?
I think it's interesting in that if Dillingham and Shannon are good picks, you would expect them to be in the rotation within the first year. Dillingham because of where he was drafted and Shannon because of his age. I wouldn't have expected 2 rookies, or necessarily even 1, in the rotation next year prior to the draft.
