GSW-LAC Trade

Post#1 » by rambo_ortega » Wed Jun 26, 2024 6:37 pm

Warriors Get:
Paul George
PJ Tucker

Dubs go all in for the last remaining years of their championship core with a superstar who fits perfectly with them.

Curry/Klay/PG/Draymond/Looney
Podziemski/Payton/Quinones/Moody/Jackson-Davis

Clippers Get:
Chris Paul
Andrew Wiggins
Jonathan Kuminga

Clips acquire young forwards in this trade which has been the one weakness in their roster for years and allow them to re-sign Harden. They become very deep with this trade even if Kawhi misses games.

Paul/Harden/Kawhi/Wiggins/Zubac
Westbrook/Mann/Powell/Kuminga/Jones

Because both GSW and LAC have apron issues, I think it's virtually guaranteed to be a 3 (or more) team deal because both GSW and LAC will want to be salary-negative.

Yep, plus the Clips wanting to avoid taking a step back with the new arena. My guess a deal that gets them someone like Kuzma and the Wiz get draft capital along with 1 year deals like CP3 and Looney. DeRozan probably would be in the mix too but near impossible as a sign and trade.

Utah happy to take on some money (I'd actually love CP3 here as a mentor)

The framework of PG to GSW, CP3 to Utah, GP2/Looney/either JK or Moody to LAC works financially, then its just a question of what picks go where.

I like the framework, however I can’t see the Clips loving this.

Didn’t Kawhi really want PG in LA? Would moving George annoy Kawhi?
