Randle - Heat Culture

Post#1 » by rambo_ortega » Wed Jun 26, 2024 8:41 pm

Knicks Get:
1 FRP from OKC
2 FRP from MIA

They get back some FRP for Randle in order to afford both OG and IHart.

Brunson/Hart/Bridges/OG/IHart

Heat Get:
Julius Randle

If there's any team who I think would take on Randle, it would be the Heat.

Rozier/Herro/Butler/Randle/Bam

Thunder Get:
Duncan Robinson

Shooting was something that the Thunder needed in the playoffs. Getting Duncan gives them shooting, defense and a lot of experience similar to what Caruso is bringing to them

SGA/Caruso/Dort/JDub/Chet
Joe/Wallace/DRob/KWill/Jaylin

Pretty terrible for OKC and NYK. The Knicks should just keep Randle. If they need to dump someone Robinson has some value even though he is always injured.

No way OKC does this.

Heat give up 2 picks for Randle... no
Thunder give up a 1st for DRob... no.

Right in your post you say "If there's any team who I think would take on Randle, it would be the Heat." This implies you struggled with the idea of who would want Randle. So how did you get from that to MIA giving up 2 1sts for him?

Miami is sending out $19m in salary, but taking back almost $29m in salary. What’s the rest of the deal to make it legal? Adding salary in a trade would hard cap Miami at the first apron, but this deal would put them about $5m over the second apron, so it’s just not legally possible as is?

If OKC would take Duncan for pure cap, I'm skeptical, the Heat would gladly do that deal.

I don't believe you're correct in that assessment.

I mean their current payroll is $182M without Highsmith.

And it could have been $26.6 million less than it is, but what did they do?

Stop this Randle to Miami. He is not a culture fit. Often absent minded on defense.

If the Knicks trade randle, they should compensate a team for dumping his contract.
Trade Randle somewhere else not name Miami Heat.
