no reason to believe this has anything to do with us other than a vague long-term need at center, but i know some draft nerds are high on this guy so i wouldn't mind it if he ends up here

When they 1st got here they did make alot of moves, problem is they were almost all the wrong moves! After that, for a while they really couldn't make alot of moves because the few assets they had coming into the job, they blew all of them on said wrong moves. 3 years later we STiLL owe a damn future 1st because they went all-in on this brutal roster construction.

It's actually mind blowing how bad they constructed the roster from start. And we still today have 3 years later same issues. And in next two years we gonna continue paying assets prices for it. This front office from early start has being doing wrong move after wrong move. And for this instead being questionable to keep their job, they actually getting extensions.
They are basketball terrorists.

Salaun up to 6.
Dillingham at 24? That would be a shock

It all started with wasting the #4 pick they were gifted entering the job.
and I stand corrected.... they had more assets they let expire.. like Zach Lavine with 2 years left on a bargain contract at the time they took over!

I definitely wasn't expecting to see that as a criticism of TSJ. His ability to finish in so many bizarre ways is one of the strengths of his game that will help his offense translate. Yes, his primary weapon is running you over, he used it with such frequency because it was literally dominantly successful. But its certainly not his only tool, and the myriad awkward angles and finishes he pulls off are incredibly unique.
On the whole I think your report is very reasonable though I don't agree with it's ultimate conclusion. I share some of those same concerns just to different degrees. But I was surprised to see that part.

Missi and Shannon are the two guys who I'd be pleased if the Bulls "reached up" for. His ability to cover space on defense looks elite to me. LOL, he's like the anti-Vuc.
He would need to be someone who has a good work ethic and approach to the game to be worthy of the draft slot, but he strikes me as having Jonathan Isaac like defensive ability, but with more of a front-court tilt.
The way he plays is also very suitable for his skillset. He keeps it simple and just goes after it hard.

But we don't need solid players. We need a great one. Solid players will just prolong the mediocrity for a decade.
I think a prospect's floor is an underrated indicator of their ceiling. One reason I like Shannon is I think he has more upside than his age suggests, mostly because I see his stats being backed by very strong physical ability, and not just advanced skills / usage that won't carry over to the pros.
Exactly. That is precisely right and gets lost by over-generalizing the meaning of a draftee's age. It can absolutely be a negative indicator. It varies prospect to prospect. But it is not always a negative indicator. Its not did he thrive? Its how and why did he thrive? The answer to that question answers the age question.

Dammit, nothing against TSJ as a player, but I'm afraid we might actually take him.
I feel like we desperately need... anything except another guard. It would great to have talent and depth at the PF/C positions for a change

To me he's this year's Jalen Williams. Williams had great combine results, a 7'2 wingspan and good advanced stats with 50/40/80 shooting. But he wasn't picked higher because he didn't come with the pedigree of having high potential, even though looking back it seems like his performance should have been better forecasted.
100% agree with this. Ceiling and floor are more correlated than people think. With that said, I don't know how much of this would apply to TSJ. He will be 24 years old for his rookie season. His age is an outlier for an NCAA prospect.

I've been more interested in this draft than any draft in many years. Not sure what it is about it, but I think its going to be a fun night but I also believe history will look back on this as a very solid draft.

This is a much more optimistic view of Knecht's impact than I have.
Nocioni is like a kids movie that you loved, but when you go back and watch it as an adult, you see that you oversold how good it was.
I love Andres, fan favorite elite role player. But that’s all it was. A few magical moments in a pretty mediocre career.
Unless you think Knecht will be a complete bust.

I understand this 100%. The problem for me is I don't see guys I'm going to want at 11 who play those positions. I expect Matas to be gone. Obviously Sarr is gone. I no longer want Clingan or Edey after the Giddey trade. The only one who might be there is Salaun.
Then its all wings and guards. And Shannon is big, strong and athletic enough to play "wing" some and not just shooting guard in the NBA. So he's right in the mix like the rest of them as far as I'm concerned.

I'm also ok with trading out of the draft if it nets us an asset. What this draft lacks are athletic 6-8 guys who can defend and shoot 3's.

I don't know these guys like many of you do but I see the most upside in guys like Buzelis and Missi.
Body first, mind second, skillset third, production fourth. That's how I like to think about draft prospects.
