I think this is the first time that the Bulls have selected someone I've wanted. He was my early first pick in our range and then it seemed like he wasn't in our range anymore. Good to see the emotion too. I hope he pans out.

2025 FRP is top-10 protected while 2026 and 2027 are top-8 protected. I don't think they would seize the top-3 picks in a row even when they tank hard but the Bulls really need to secure those picks.

Defense is one of his strengths. Especially his weakside defense. If we can't draft a Vuc replacement, drafting an athletic freak that can block shots helps.

I love it. I wrote posts earlier today about how I’d love to take a 4/5 but knew the type I’d want - and I specifically said like Matas - would be long gone.

Fits what I’ve been begging for to run with Giddey. And he’s a rim protector. I’m ecstatic.

Matas missed games due to injury. Had he played the whole season and got his rhythm he could have gone 1
