Ayton and Simons are off the books in 2 years, they are looking at the future with that pick.
IMHO 80% of the guys taken in the lottery this year are going to bust, Clingan is probably the highest floor guy in the lottery.

It will be interesting to see how Clingan and Edey turn out. I feel Edey has a lot of upside too and glad to see him go at 9th instead of 2nd round. Knecht is dropping like a rock but I think he could be a JJ Redick type player.

Seeing Gorgui in the Spurs draft room was a sign we're connected to them

Who can drop to us at 27? Or another trade possibly? I love how active Connelly is when he has picks at his disposal.

Two years ago, we needed a defensive and rebounding presence when we got bounced by memphis. TC went and traded for Gobert
Last year, we just needed more time to gel and for everyone to start the season healthy. TC barely did anything and just added on the margins
This year, we desperately needed a bucket getter to help when our offense stalls. TC trades up and drafts an electric bucket getter!

Our GM is proactive, we're in good hands

But for who? I am still shook about trading to 8th for Rob. I was convinced we were gonna trade to 13-16 for McCain LOL

Lets hope Rob>>> Mccain.

Can't believe we only give up a 2031 pick for the 8th pick. This draft must be super weak. Hope we turn the 27th pick into a good trade, maybe like Cam Johnson?

I hope he’s part of the trade, we get Gorgui for our front office.

I guess that’s one way to add salary when you’re over the second apron!

Geez. I think we must be moving someone, I can’t see us paying a near 100m tax bill, even for one year.

Still have 27. I fully expect a wing shooter. Furphy or Scheierman my best guesses. Dadiet or Christie being other options.

I’m thinking shooter at 27 and true center at 37.

Also, he is very aggressive in drafts to get who he wants! Trading future picks doesn't faze him. We saw that with the Gobert trade. We saw it with the Miller trade-up. We saw it in Denver with midseason trades for Gordon (2021), Afflalo (2015).

2031 unprotected first and 2030 protected pick swap for the 8th pick in 2024.
I guess that's pretty good value for us when you consider how far out those picks are.
I remember waiting like 6 years for the Marko Jaric pick to finally transfer and it just ended up being Austin Rivers.

Those picks are out beyond Ant's contract, so that's pretty dangerous, but it's a home run move if the pick works out.
All depends on the player. If Dillingham turns into an above average starter, it's a big win.
Fill the long term PG spot.

Dillingham has crazy athleticism and a nice shot in his highlights. There is a ton of potential there.
You can see shades of Tyrese Maxey.

But Chris Finch better stock up on Ibuprofin, it's gonna be a steep learning curve.
For some reason Spurs fans absolutely hated the pick when they thought it was Dillingham.

We could drop Moore, Morris, and JMcL :D They already sold out all lower level season tickets. Playoffs add more income. So a lot of the tax is already offset. Tylor can't take his money or draft picks to his grave, so what's an extra 20Mil of tax for him?
