Lidge?

Post#1 » by edney2polynice_ » Tue Apr 10, 2007 12:27 am

I read on ESPN Insiders that we were are interested in RP Jose Capellan from the BrewCrew, which means we are looking put a gauge on our gaping wound of a bullpen.

I wonder now that Lidge seems to be in the doghouse, if the 'Stros would listen to offers for him?

What we need is bat, not worried about pitching. Our pitching staff is aight just like last year. This team sucks on offense. We can't score runs for s***. Right now, Cain has a no hitter going but no run support. What a joke.

Dude...our bullpen is as bad, or even worse than our offense.

I have some faith that our offense will pickup, I have no faith that our bullpen will ever hold a league..

I would be interested to see what they want. I would not give up a lot because even though our pen is not great, we do have a lot of young arms. I'd be open to communication at least.

Nope.

Our BP is in shambles.

bp has been fine, the offense needs a major talent infusion. the bullpen has talent, not a lot of experience. sanchez and correia seem to be taking the next step in their young careers

I do not agree that the pen is in "shambles" by any means. Great? No, but very promising. I do agree that Sanchez and Correia look to be locking up a role. I still have faith in Brad Hen and lets not forget Wilson could be a mid-season callup after he gets a bit more experience in Fresno. That is 4 good looking young arms. I still would be open to getting Lidge for sure. Never can have too many arms. But I would very careful about what I would offer for him.

Right now, I am hoping that Morris keeps pitching well and Durham keeps hitting and looking good at second. Those seem to be our two best trading assests and they need to be used to get a young bat. Maybe Aurilia as well but that would be a bonus.
