Brook Lopez is a name that has popped up

Rui and 17 for Brook Lopez and 23?

I like that one, can play next to AD and space the floor or without AD. And AD can also close at the 5 vs most teams

Still unsure why we are leaving at DJM honestly

He doesn't move the needle enough for me. Overrated defender seems like or it can be due to ATL and guardings SGs? Shooting is meh.

Not moving Reaves for a guy who doesn't move the needle. And the fit is meh I believe, unless someone has data to prove me wrong

Would love Marcus Smart, but doesn't seem like he is available

DJM is better than any other ball handling guard they can acquire. And he's better than Dlo, it's understandable they are linked to him

But is he a good fit? And is he really that good anyways?

For non consistent all star guys, I think I rather have Lavine or even CJ

Lavine should cost no assets, CJ should cost something small

Yes he's good and a good fit to me. Top 15ish pg who's defensive impact will improve once he's on a real team again

Definitely much better than Lavine or CJ

To a degree, LAL still need a guard who can create pull up jumper from the midrange, he fits the criteria

What about Reaves?

Dont we need a guard who can create pull up jumpers from 3?

I think it's harder for him to create space, he's not the guy who can quickly rise and take a pull up middy. He should take more pull up 3s instead imo

DJM is not ideal and probably not even realistic but he would substantially upgrade the back court

Seems like when arguably your best player turns 40 the upcoming season, "win now" may be the most prudent course of action. Maybe, they'll surprise us :)

So Mikal Bridges to NY for 5 1sts and a swap lol

Wtf, seems like a crazy overpay

But now we should be looking at Cam Johnson or DFS if we aren't going for a big star

"Nets are open for business, folks. If you want Cam Johnson or Dorian Finney-Smith, now is the time to go get them."

Cam Johnson is one of my main targets as a role guy

Really need Dlo to opt in so we can move him as well

My expectation that Pelinka won't trade #17 and then will make a dumb trade with '29 first for a Grant/Johnson level of player

Idk if I want Cam Johnson but I for sure want DFS. The Nets doing this means everyone's for sale.

Few rumors about trading up for Devin Carter, which would be nice for a PoA defender.

Lakers are going to waste this pick on some ass, blow their remaining assets on some ass like Dejounte Murray, and LeBron will re-sign for 3 years anyways and ride out the rest of his career on a fringe playoff team.

  First time I ever saw highlights of JHS, I couldn’t believe that HE was the player the highlights were about. He was young and supposedly had upside and he had to have upside because what he showed was abysmal: slow, unathletic, ugly shot, meh defense…

Knecht seems like a good choice since they decided to take the pick. Better than last year at least, though that’s a low bar. hell, picking Bronny would’ve had about the same impact on the team’s chances as picking JHS did last year. This guy at least has a useful skill that this team needs.

Knecht is the best player to pick if they chose to keep that pick. Dude is a scorching scorer.

From limited reading and videos, this seems like a good pick

At least better than JHS even in real time

So confused to why we picked JHS when Jacquez was there (also Podz and Whitmore)

Well now what?

We kept the pick and seem to want to keep him

Needs are still the same:

1) A big who can backup AD and play a bit next to him hopefully: Duop Reath (Portland just drafted another C....), Olynyk, WCJ seem the most realistic

2) A guard who is a solid shooter and can attack: Lavine, Trae Young, CJ

Also Dejoutne Murray and Sexton (both meh). Any other names here?

3) A physical guard who can defend and hopefully score a bit: Marcus Smart?

4) An upgrade at the wing vs Rui or Vando: Cam Johnson, DFS?

Number 1: should be the easiest to get

Number 2: pretty tough since those guys are basically stars and are paid a lot. Least realistic,

Number 3: Hard to find many names

Number 4: Not a ton of these guys. Deni just went for 2 1sts, 2 2nds, and Brogdon. He is young and on a good deal, but a hefty price
