I like the archetype, defensive oriented C who sets hard screens, rebounds tremendously well, has generational advanced metrics defensively, doesn’t demand usage, plays hard and loves the game.

Unless you have an All NBA talent at C you want low usage guys that set screens and play D. The anti-Ayton. I can see him being a 12 year starter who posts elite defensive metrics, regularity in the top 5-10 for BLK and REB.

If your a believer in Scoot and Sharpe being high usage, high scoring guys then you need to surround them with a connector (Deni) and a screen setting, rim protecting big.

These moves if anything show that the FO is ‘all in’ on the belief that Scoot and Sharpe are our cornerstones moving forward. I am not convinced on either but I like the confidence the FO has and the moves to try and maximize their talent by surrounding them with complimentary guys.

They could really use a LMA style pick and pop PG....or Flagg

Filipowski?

Fine

Clingan wasn't my favorite pick, but the Blazers had to go there. In Schmitz we trust...

Adding Clingan and Deni today is a huge day for Portland.

I'm lowkey mad that Knecht went to LA. He's going to crush on the Lakers.

Awesome draft so far...love seeing the tears.

Each pick I keep thinking...Grant on the move? Wouldn't be surprised to see Grant moved as part of the package with some of these late teen- early twenties picks.

It's possible they'll wait until free agency to see who misses out on Paul George.

I'm so scared that moving Brogdon means we won't move Ant.

I REALLY don't see how they put Simons or Scoot on the bench, and that's an issue. It's just so awkward in both cases. My hope too is that they trade Simons.

Perhaps Ant still finds a way to end up in Orlando for the draft rights to De Silva

It seems like a lot of teams in the 20's are trying to trade their picks

Blazers could probably trade their 2 seconds if someone wants them vs late 1st rdr

It'd be nice if Portland could get Tyler Smith in the second round

Trade both to get Smith...please!!!

Edit: Maybe not...hmm Klintman, Flip, Furphy, Edwards, Chomche... I would do back flips if we got say Tyler Smith and Furphy. I am significantly higher on Bobi than the consensus too
From Portland to Reno to Vegas to LA to SLC and on to HotLanta. Winning at life. Too Blessed to be Stressed

Portland should be able to add someone at 34 who could play in the league for they
have the fourth pick in round 2 and guys like Furphy, Filopowski, Klintman, Christie,
Bona and Smith.

Portland worked a lot of those guys who will be drafted in the second round

Furphy or Smith would make this draft a grand slam instead of just a home run.

We are guaranteed one of Smith, Flip, Furphy and Kolek (who should be in play now with MB gone).

Hell, if we keep both we are guaranteed to end up with 2 of the below guys -

TIER 1 - Flip, Furphy, Djursic, Bona, Smith, Kolek, Freeman
TIER 2 - Klintman, Christie, Mitchell

Like, Furphy or Smith and Kolek or Mitchell would be wild

Return to Portland Trail Blazers
