My only disappointment is we did not work out him.

Scottie. They know they can't have non-shooters around him. That's why RJ is gone if his %s from last year weren't real (he's gone regardless imo)

Re: With the 19th Pick, the Raptors select Ja'Kobe Walter!
During the pre-draft show, he said he likes to model his game after someone like Kawhi and was named after Jordan and Kobe (Ja'Kobe) so perhaps he could ultimately become the scoring guard this team needs to compliment IQ, Gradey Dick, RJ Barrett, Scottie and their development timeline.
6′ 4.25” barefoot - probably going to be 6'6" in shoes - prototypical size for the shooting guard position.
197.6 lbs - needs to add another 10-15 lbs and likely will over the next few seasons
8′ 6.50” standing reach - second highest standing reach among guards
6′ 10.00” wingspan - one of the longest wingspans for a guard
Among all guards (point guard + shooting guard), he had a decent lane agility (11.0 seconds) score, one of the top 10 times (2.92 seconds) in the shuttle run, and a top 5 time in the 3/4 court sprint (3.04 seconds).
Among all prospects, he had one of the top 25 standing verticals (30.5 inches) and one of the top 15 max verticals (38.5 inches).
FG% = 37.6% (4.1 fgm on 10.9 fga)
2pt FG% = 42.3% (2.0 2pm on 4.7 2pa)
3pt FG% = 34.1% (2.1 3pm on 6.3 3pa)
FT% = 79.2% (4.1 ftm on 5.2 fta)
14.5 points, 4.4 rebounds, 1.4 assists, 1.1 steals, 0.2 blocks in 32.3 minutes per game
With the right support and development, he could become one of the top 5 or 10 players chosen in this draft.

Raptors record prediction: 45-37 (6th place in the East)

Anyone complaining about a 19th pick is just not getting what the late ends of the first round are lol. There is no "great pick" at this point, it's pretty much a mishmash of maybes, just gonna have to trust in the FOs one clear strength, drafting.

Props TZ!

He pretty much reminded me of Trent with better defense tbh. Bub off the board early was tough

Also, he's clearly a GTJ replacement. Not sure why everyone keeps saying he doesn't fit. RJ isn't our long term SG.
Exactly!
This is a guard dominant league.
RJ and maybe IQ may not be our long term guards.
Who knows, no one knows.
I wanted K George last year (instead of Dick), and I’m fully okay with the Ja’Kobe selection

Walter is a steal.
what about the ones who didn't like Keyonte
not a Ja'Kobe fan, but also not complaining about the pick. There was no obvious clear cut choice.
You're going to be pleasantly surprised with the pick.
I honestly had him in my top 5.
He has potential to be a steal. Kid was not a spot up shooter, he's a movement shooter.
I'll do a write up on him soon, but I've seen the kid play roughly 10 times, and I'm escatic. If you want a guy who can be a 20ppg scorer and hit 3's, you can't get better than this kid.
I just prefer my guards to be able to get to the rim and create on-ball, unless he can turn into a Ray Allen/RIP/Reggie Miller/JJ Redick level of a shooter.
In the past, I thought we should have ran a lot more off-ball screen action for guards like GTJr/Ross considering they suck on-ball. But it never seems to happen on the Raps. Darko even wanted to develop GTJr's on-ball game last season.

Especially in this draft. If he becomes a KCP solid role player next to scottie at 19, u take it. Plus still only 19 not finished by any means

Is this a 4/10 worry or 9/10?
Now that we know his birth name was fumbled out the gate....10/10.
