Lots of overlap with Reaves though...

Is he any good?

Apparently alot of drafts had him going a bit higher. Did we "steal one" here? Hope so.

Well, sounds like we prob got a fairly solid role player. can be a little streaky shooting...but when its on, its on. He's been in college a while. So he's already 23. Some questions about his ceiling. Shoots 39% from the 3....not bad.

" Defensively, Knecht will almost certainly be a liability at the NBA level. Improving his quickness and positioning will be key points of emphasis. Even so, he’s a heady player on both ends, so the hope is that his instincts and IQ help offset some of the physical limitations."

So yeah.....I don't think we drafted the next Ant-man or anything like that. Could be a solid role guy. Sounds like working with JJ is prob a good fit for him.

Lot of teams had him as top 8 talent.

Late bloomer that can shoot and is a killer on O but not sure about defense.

Wanted da Silva or Holmes or EDEY. But think Knecht is the BPA and a wing we need.

Hope we can trade for a pick and get Holmes which would be perfect!

Hard to not like the pick considering where we got him and the fact that we need shooting. Especially if we plan on moving on from Russell.

We moving on from Dlo.

Damn Denver traded up to draft Holmes. For the 22nd pick, Denver gives up #28 pick this year plus 3 second round picks including this years pick. All that to move up 6 spots.

Yeah, but sounds like we don't improve defensively. Something just about everyone around here has been screaming about. Personally the guy sounds fine. Sounds like he can be a decent piece. I'm not over the moon about it....but it's not horrible. We'll have to see how he does in the NBA.

If we can but a pick would love to add Dunn or George now that we missed on Holmes and EDEY.

Yeah...can't deny he has a shot. I like that. We need to spread the floor.

Really like this pick. Can be a big help with offense on the 2nd unit. I don't know much about his defense and I'm always weary of late bloomers but looks like a good pick.

From NBA.com:

Defensively, Knecht will almost certainly be a liability at the NBA level. Improving his quickness and positioning will be key points of emphasis. Even so, he’s a heady player on both ends, so the hope is that his instincts and IQ help offset some of the physical limitations.

ie....horrible defender.

Keep in mind this was a weak draft, but we definitely got the steal of the draft. Very, very good offensively.

He is athletic so we will see. 6’6 and 6’9” wingspan are good esp since he is one of the most gifted scorers this year. We finally get a shooter that can attack the rim too.

The biggest knock on him was the age and some worry about defense. See comps like Hero, Korver or Thompson but more athletic as a late 6 inch in college bloomer.

He looks quicker than the comp and don’t think he is a Dlo on D esp at 6’6”. This prob ends Dlo tenure in LA.

Guards:
AR/Gabe/Bronny
Max/Knecht

? Dinwiddie

If you replace Dlo with Knecht and Max, that’s a huge upgrade on defense.

Long 6'9" wingspan. Yes, could still be better than Dlo on D

Maybe not the facilitator but clearly the offense is what is needed

If you are going to keep that pick, Knecht is about as good a player as you hope to get. He’ll be in the rotation from day 1.
