OG trade and Siakam trade are almost on the opposite end of spectrum as far as value of the returns. They really shouldn't be grouped together.

To add to the 'Out' list:
- $400M in salaries to OG/Pascal ($90M annual average)

That pretty much sums up the deals right there.

Ill wait until we announce our massive overpays, and the results of Beown and Trent...

D- RIght now, but could go up or down depending on what Masai does with the aforementioned.

Part of how good the trade looks will depend on how much IQ gets paid this summer. If he gets 4 years $100 million like Claxton just got I am really liking the trade for Toronto. If he gets 4 years $140 million ($35 million per) I like it a bit less.

this, A+ grade, the team couldnt wint 41 games with those two so paying them 400 million was not the answer

at most he gets 4 years $110
4 years $100 would be ideal

if he gets $140 then we are in trouble

I was coming in to say exactly this. That would be at the top of my list.

That is why I always disputed those that said the owners might be unhappy with our FO trading them for a mediocre return. I don't think the owners give a damn about the return and rather are likely pleased with Masai for not handing those 2 a guaranteed 410M in contracts.

It’s definitely good to not have to pay $400M for those two guys, but at the same time, it kind of speaks to their talent level.

We’ll be lucky to get one OG level guy out of that group, let alone a Siakam. We can only hope they work out better due to fit (roster and timeline).

Taking on RJ should still be seen as a price, IMO. He seems to be on the way to turning his value around, so if he does, that’s a pretty big win.

Are we allowed to do this? We don't know what the returns are so far. Not everyone has played.

Return aside,

Siakam is overpaid
OG is really overpaid
FVV is stupidly overpaid

what is with that previous core of ours

Those are two wildly different trade results and probably shouldnt be lumped together for feedback. Siakam one drags down the OG one and vice versa.

You'd think you'd be able to get a better package for a guy worth a 200mil contract. OG alone I'd give it a solid B, Siakam D- at best.

It's crazy how similar the situations were at the end of the day, guy who was pretty much forcing his way to a single team, both UFAs, both commanding salaries more than they are arguably worth, yet such a massive disparity in returns.

If you just replaced Nwora on that list with Jarace Walker, I'd be pretty please by the pivot.

I think it's still incomplete.

For OG we'll see what we net with 31. And it will take a couple of years to evaluate. But RJ and Quickly on controllable contracts for the same annual value as OG, who has trouble staying healthy. Is a pretty good return for two productive, young starters on winning teams.

Pascal is really the unknown. Until we see what becomes of Bruce Brown and the next FRP. But assuming they're gone and looking at the return to date of Kelly, Ochai, Nwora and Ja'Kobe is an improvement on youth and depth, but not a great return for an all-star calibre player.

We also need a couple of seasons to see how the picks play/fit with the team. If Ja'Kobe becomes Anthony Edwards then we won the Pascal deal...if he becomes KCP then useful, but meh for an all-star.

The other thing to recognize is that this team wasn't winning with OG and Pascal and the salaries they would command would put us heavily in the tax (possibly the second apron with Scottie's extension?). If you are going that far into the tax you have to be a championship contending team. We could see we weren't so had to move off regardless.

OG just got $36, $39, $42, $45, $48
If IQ gets $30, $32, $34, $36, $38
RJ gets $25, $27, $29

I could understand why a lot of teams would be OG at that $ instead of IQ and RJ at that money.

43, 48, 67, 50

Games played by OG in each of the last 4 seasons. I think there are a lot of teams that would take the younger, healthier guys, even if they are inferior players.

The OG trade was an A, while the Siakam trade was a C. I'll go with a B overall.

The Siakam trade could look a lot better or worse than a C over time. Right now our return is Walter, Agbaji, Olynyk, a 2026 1st round pick, and whatever we do with Brown and Nwora (which could easily be nothing).

If brown turns into another lotto pick or plays as a good glue guy starter then I'd say the pascal return is a B+. If Brown turns into a late first or worse then I'd say C+.

The OG trade is an A

Why would we combine them?

The OG trade was good. The Siakam trade was good as a last minute deal for an expiring player. It was not a good trade if you consider we could have traded him earlier for a better return.

Who we draft with the Siakam picks won't change my evaluation of the trade, because why would it?

Brown is not turning into a lotto pick.
