Or when we trade Maxey for Doncic, McCain is a perfect off-ball guy to start at PG.

Dont start. I also have several similar thoughts in mind.

Maybe something that involves Steph Curry or Devin Booker perhaps?

At least that type of move would make sense.

The "We’ll be OK if Kentavious Caldwell-Pope doesn’t return" quote feels disrespectful. It's true, but irreguardless.

KCP definitely leaving Denver.

Morey still saying we’re going to be the best team in the East next year.

Boy does he need to deliver.

Please don't tease me with that. That's who I want and would even trade up to guarantee to it

Didn't realize FA started on June 30th. Wasn't it always July 1st?

I keep seeing "oh the backcourt will be so small" as if he will start next to Maxey and play 30+ minutes.

Right? Kid might be fighting for 10 minutes each night in the Playoffs.

After looking at the current board, I'd be completely fine with most of the top talent left:

Furphy
Filipowski
Klintman
Bona
McCullar
Harrison Ingram
Djurisic

Even the UK guys aren't terrible picks:
Justin Edwards
Antonio Reeves

Obviously most of these guys will be out of the league in short order, but some of them feel like hits here.

NY and Boston each have at least 4 starters who are all excellent and all veterans in or near their primes.

Brunson
Bridges
OG
Randle

If the Knicks are able to foist Randle on some sucker and can get any kind of return, they and Boston are going to be really difficult to deal with for the next couple of years.

I'll say this unequivocally - if Morey ever brought James in here, I would become a Lakers fan tomorrow. Initially, it would have just been quitting the NBA (finally), but with Knecht in LA I would at least have a rooting interest somewhere.

And I've been all-Philly every year of my existence, with even the idea of "switching" teams a foreign thought.

I hate to even think it, but it does seem like it's going to be James and his G-League son.

Either that, or Morey is one delusional cat.

Knecht has better chance to be a starter in this league than McCain does. He should have been the pick

Knecht also played better than McCain in conference play in a better conference

I don't understand how Morey is a multimillionaire yet he is still a fat ass. Serious red flag from him

How can I trust a dude like that to make the right decisions for this franchise?

Yeah, the "does he sound dumb" test is usually highly accurate.

I didn't catch all the interviews, but from what I saw:

Sounded Smart:
- Cody Williams
- Jared McCain

Sounded Dumb:
- Ron Holland
- Kel'el Ware

I'll add Dalton Knecht to the second list. As soon as I heard his brief interview after the Lakers picked him I was glad we passed lol.

Love it. Sounds like a guy who is confident in his plan(s) to come to fruition.

I expect to be surprised by what ultimately happens.

Yes, it looks promising for us to get a good prospect at #41.

This would certainly be an interesting roster.
