This kid is better than Seth Curry already. He moves better, he reminds me a lot of Klay Thompson. Sans the 4 extra inches of height.

The frustration lies in the fact that all the teams we're competing with that are already better than us keep getting bigger and more athletic and we're zagging and getting smaller and more unathletic.

I agree that it’s a concern but we still have 10-11 roster slots to fill so I’m going to reserve final judgement until we actually have a full team to evaluate.

He shoots like Jj, stops on a dime in transition to get a 3 off. Thats something we’ve been missing. He’s also a very good shooter off motion. Something we need. I don’t see the Seth curry comparison, curry never shot in transition or on motion. He needed his time to shoot, that was the frustration on him. He shoots 40% on off balance shots which is great. He also has a high FT % which says it’s not a gimmick. Hes jj with better defense

but no seriously good shooter , sneaky good rebounder for a guard, powerful base so should hold up on defense despite his size, not against great wings but yeah no ****. Gives us a guy who can hopefully get hot from 3, which is what you need in the modern NBA.

Again would have taken Knecht probably but same tier of prospect imo with different downsides; banking on McCain's youth to make up for it

Probably trade bait despite the lies of Morey tonight.

The truth is that if McCain turns out to be just a microwave scorer off the bench, at #16 it will have been a successful pick. Any more than that would be gravy.

But at least you have MVP candidate Embiid and have cap space. So, while there might have been better paths forward, you might still be in good shape. It's imperative you find a long defender that can play the 2 with either of them so they're not on the floor together for long stretches. Not sure who is available. Maybe see if you can pry Okoro away from CLE?

I'm thinking KCP is high on our radar now that the Nuggets basically said he's gone. He would be a good backcourt partner with either Maxey or McCain.

He's more athletic than JJ, stronger, and has more of a midrange game, and has an ability to get in the paint a little. If he's JJ level great, but with his work ethic I wouldn't be suprrised if he becomes a 18-20 ppg level player. Which JJ was for 1 year, but you know what I mean.

Honestly I don't really care about that. I've got earrings, and dyed hair. I'm also really into my beard and use a bunch of product. To each their own. What matters is he is an extremely hard worker, is talented, has had a great growth trajectory, and will immediately be one of the best shooters in the league from day one.

I posted a few tik toks of his and found it amusing, but I'm also 41 so it's not just something my generation does.

This is Jared McCain’s brother.

Does he look familiar to you? Or have I just been watching too many Sixers games?

Exactly, I'm 42... I'm covered in ink, I have certainly lived my life. It's a generation difference and that's all. Our generation didn't paint fingernails and do cheer dances while wearing booty shorts in front of a camera. I accept it for what it is, but I don't have to understand it nor will I try to. If I'm willing to keep the idea of Miles Bridges basketball related, then I need to do the same with weirdos like McCain...who went to Duke...And goes by "Jared."

I am so numb to this team due to annual disappointment and mind-blowing incompetence over the last decade that I have no care to enter the culture war over a 16th overall pick during a summer where Morey has bigger fish to fry.

I'll draw the line at domestic abuse, but I just want Embiid and Maxey to be supported by teammates who miraculously out-play their potential in the postseason and leave opponents stunned, the same way we have been daggered by the likes of Al Horford, Terry Rozier, Josh Hart, and many more.

Yea I'm pumped to have Jared. Good to have a guy who's going to match Maxey's work ethic.

I imagine the Sixers social media is going to have a field day with the content they make with him. I hope he posts a new dance every day!

Winner of Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Award?

*Klutch probably paid off Nickelodeon to win this award

I’m ready to die on the McCain will be a better pro than Reed Sheppard hill. This kid will be Desmond Bane at worst.

Way too short and zesty to be a top pick. Hope he is part of a trade.

I don't think it's too farfetched. McCain has better all star traits than Reed. Reed has the ultimate role player skill set and refused to create his own scoring. McCain will inflate his value enormously by playing with Embiid because he's a force on offense when running the PnR and DHO. Unless Reed shows something he never showed at UK, he's going to be a killer 3&D PG for Houston, similar to the job he's taking (VanVleet).
