Theoretically, yeah. He looked great in space in the games I watched. Long arms, quick feet, strong chest.

I think Filipowski is the first pick this afternoon. Toronto won't want to pass up the value.

Just watched some Kyle Filipowski highlights. Nice offensive game. Never saw him play a single game but for those who did, there's a little Keith Van Horn in his bag, right? Sorry if that's a lazy comparison.

Whenever I think of KVH, I think about him drowning in his purple Bucks jersey always needing to pull the jersey strap back up over his small shoulders

Flipowski seems like a guy to me that is smart and skilled enough to play pretty early. I like his vision and control with the ball, for a big. He measured 6’11 with a 6’10 wingspan. So I don’t think he’s going to be an elite defensive physical presence. But he can pass and cut and I think he’ll become a solid three level shooter. Isnt Kelly Olnyck the type of dude you’re getting?

Ironically, Filipowski was the one guy I did not want with our first round pick.

I actually might have felt better with drafting him over Anthony Johnson. Hopefully I am wrong.

I see Fred Roberts. Which is fine, because Fred was a great part of any 9-man rotation.

Bucks had a center like that once.

Reading Horst's subtext yesterday, I had the impression that they'd prefer to make a good trade over a good pick today.

Intriguing

Projection

Smith exits the 2024 NBA Combine with nearly identical measurements to John Collins, emblematic of the his next-level athleticism. If Smith improves his technique as a finisher, he has serious upside as an elite role player and/or capable starter. His physical profile makes him an impactful offensive rebounder, multi-level defender and screener — with athleticism and shooting to be a dynamic offensive weapon via rolling and popping after screening. Smith runs the floor hard and is a fiery competitor. Smith is best viewed as a play-finisher, but the iteration of Christian Wood who averaged 17.9 points, 10.1 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.8 steals plus blocks in 2021-22 across a full season with Houston is the ceiling for Smith. An all-around impact similar to Tari Eason is also on the table. Smith’s ability to defend on the wings is indicative of his modern-day skills, but 2005 No.2 overall pick Marvin Williams’ late-career balance can be drawn as a parallel to Smith, as well.

yeah I got the feeling there's a great chance we don't actually take someone at 33 from that too...

and the roster is getting full so it makes sense

we already have:

1. GA
2. Dame
3. Khris
4. Brook
5. Bobby
6. Pat
7. AJG
8. AJJ
9. MJB
10. Livingston
11. AJJJ

12. Thanasis?
13. Pick 33?

14. Backup PG??
15. Backup C??

so if we take someone at 33 who needs a real roster spot and have to resign Thanasis that leaves us with only two spots left on the roster and we'd have basically zero proven depth

Pat and #33 for a future top 55 protected 2nd to get us under the apron is what I'm lowkey expecting today

Ive come to the conclusion that Horst has our next starting sg lined up already. theres just no other possible rationale for not using #23 to to that end. So i think we will simply try and maximize value at 33, however it makes sense.

Im also going to predict that Pat gets moved for salary relief

Since we're taking wild swings anyways, would be hilarious if we took Bronny. I'm here for the chaos

If we trade #33 then I understand the AJ Johnson pick even less. Just take the guy you think can be a contributor within the next 2-3 years.

After yesterday, I’ve had to open my mind up to other options that may enrage me that I wasn’t worried about before lol. Kolek would be fine IMO.
