We are deliberately tanking. Bobby said there would be minutes. We also have Javon Freeman-Liberty and Jalen McDaniels. I don't think we need Gary because we should plan to suck.

GTJ sucks. I expect Dick to outplay him this season.

Pretty much all signs point to betting on pedigree and upside at 19 in a weak draft full of potential rotation players. They are clearly rebuilding and looking for talent - the FO has sent a clear message IMO.

Trent would look good playing with Luka and Kyrie getting open 3's. Tim Hardaway and future 2nd rounders for GTJr S&T?

It was pretty apparent, to me anyway, that when he put his head into his hands immediately, it was due to being overcome with emotion. I never once got the vibe that he was unhappy.

Difference was that we were adding those guys to a 50 win team led by Demar/Lowry lol

Looking at that roster it makes no sense how we won 49 games in 2014-15.

We underrated how good the combo of Lowry and DeRozan was - more on their personalities and how much they helped build a culture where players didn't want to leave Toronto and were actually upset when they were traded or not brought back. Chemistry was a huge part of that team even though ultimately the lack of a superstar did them in.

Who knows, only time can tell.

But considering we drafted a player who is a terrible fit for our roster currently, I would say he was the BPA to our FO.
What an absolute failure and disaster this franchise is, ran by one of the most incompetent front offices in the league.

19, plays defense, and has one of the better shot releases of the guys in the draft.

This is one of those picks you make because you have a coach and a system that is suppose to the develop talent.
Your move Darko.

He had to be pretty high up on their board because they didn't even work him out.

If the money is reasonable and the years work;
I would keep him solely because I think his shooting alone makes him movable down the line.

GTJ at worst is gonna be a neutral asset.

A year ago, he was being mentioned as one of the top players in the draft. He's fallen a fair bit. I'm not sure if that will turn out to be good or bad. That reach makes him fairly athletic at 6'4".

GTJ sucks. I expect Dick to outplay him this season.

Gary sucks bro and is the least valuable player type. A non play making guard with no size, no positional versatility on both ends, poor defender, no consistency and low IQ. He is a one trick pony bench player that wants to be overpaid on a team with a bunch of SGs. Love Gary as a person but bye. We are done being a home for scrubs. He can join Precious and Flynn in the complete disappointment category.

You can argue he had the most pedigree and highest upside of any of the guys left at 19. Given his choice of purple, I honestly think he was set to go to the Lakers but Knecht fell and took his spot.

There was also this a few days ago:

This draft for me was to find at least a rotation player/Role player for us and i think we found one here....Would be great to get 2 of them with the 31st pick but thats a little more unlikely....Next years draft is where we will do damage.
