In one of our draft threads I posted that I wanted this guy but I knew we wouldn't take him 31.

His defense is special. He will make other players better by having to practice against him.

With him and DM in practice, they are going to turn IQ into an all-star.

Np. We will get our big/center in the 2025 draft.

For 1st rounders, there is only 1 type of contract that can be offered so there's no point negotiating. Technically you can actually go +/- 20% from the scale, but you get the point.

For 2nd rounders, there is no set contract. Could be any number of years or $ (assuming enough cap space). There's a new 2nd round exception which teams can use, but you don't have to.

We went from one of the tallest team to one of the smallest, I don’t get it.

Davion has been a fringe rotation player and the 45h pick in a weak draft is unlikely to get rotation minutes. If they both pan out and are actually competing for minutes that's a good problem.

davion is an expiring who is a good tank commander

jamal needs a year to work on his shooting in the g-league and maybe can stick on the bench next year as a 23 year old if things go well for him

When we look back in time one day, this pick is gonna look like the time when we picked Powell with Milwaukee's pick. More than anything, Shead seems very very smart. You can't have enough of them in the modern NBA. He just needs to develop a decent 3 point shot and he might even be next Lowry/FVV.

Oh no. Just like the stock market, opposite of general consensus is usually true. If too many of you are happy with this draft, that's a bad sign.

I wanted to see pitch forks from the fans. That's when we know Masai is doing the right things!

lol were you not around the past couple years? I seen more than just pitch forks out for Masai recently.

Recently as in pre draft. But I am seeing too many happy campers about how this draft went.

They both have uses on the defensive end. This was a problem for us last year.

I think it is a fair comment. Davion and Jamal are made from the same cloth. Davion is a lotto pick - maybe he shouldn't have been - but he was drafted high and is on the last year of his deal. Toronto gets to try him out in the same way we are doing with Ochai so I don't think we are committed to him.

I think we still need a forward and a back-up C, but this team will be bad but scrappy.

Shead will make the team. Mitchell will be packaged and never see the court.

I really like Shead as a culture guy. I remember last year looking at him and thinking I like Jamal Shead better than Marcus Sasser. The guy is an absolute dog on defense.

Don't love the pick. Would have preferred a high potential stash overseas kind of guy.
