The Boston Celtics used the No. 54 pick in the 2024 NBA Draft to select Anton Watson from Gonzaga. The 23-year-old joined Baylor Scheierman as the latest players to join the Celtics orbit.

Watson played five seasons with Gonzaga, establishing himself as a smart passer and a reliable deep threat. He shot 41.2% on 3-pointers during the 2023-24 campaign for the Bull Dogs. At 6-foot-8, Watson has earned comparisons to Al Horford thanks to his versatility on the offensive end and his intelligent, patience play on defense. It is unclear at the time of this writing how much time, if any, Watson will spend in Boston, but he could end up being a high-impact player with the club’s G-League affiliate the Maine Celtics.

The NBA’s Las Vegas Summer League kicks off next week, and will give fans a chance to see Watson and Scheierman in Celtic green.

Yeah. I'd feel better if these Guys were 19 when they come in, instead of 24.
Give them some time to develop at the NBA level. Starting at 24 though, IDK.

Anton Watson could be a Jeopardy famous name in 20 years.

I was drafted one pick before Lebron James son in the 2024 NBA draft?

Based on the title I thought we already traded him to the Blazers.

Sounds like a well rounded utility big. Put him on a two-way and see if he eventually deserves any consideration for anything more.

I'm stupid, thanks lol

He'll be a nice addition to the Red Claws. Would love to say I think we got a steal, but I'll be (pleasantly) surprised if he sees the NBA floor often.

I like it - Celtics need a player in this mold, he's a little boring but fits where the modern game is going.

What he lacks in hops he gains in brains :D

I'll take the iq all day though
