Lane Agility Time: 12.07 (worst time measured, Clingan second at 12.06)

Shuttle Run: 3.22 (8th worst)

Three Quarter Sprint: 3.18 (middle of the pack)

Standing vert: 28" (below average)

Max vert: 32.5" (13th worst)

He's also old for a freshman, will be 21 in his rookie season. Has nice shooting mechanics. At his very peak he's probably a "3&D" guy that can attack closeouts.

RSCI is in his favor though. Ranked only behind Holland and Collier in the class of 2023.

In terms of good news, his last 12 games (cherry picking a bit) he was 63% 2FG, 47% 3FG, 84% FT, 69.7% TS, 10.7 ppg, 2.8 rpg, 1.2 apg, 1.1 spg, .45 3PAr, .313 FTr.

So huge shooting numbers in the role designated to him at UK. He did have one enormous outlier (28pts, 4/5FT, 4/4 3FG), but the rest of the games looked pretty decent. He also looks the part when he's cooking. He just needs to commit to the gym and getting in the best shape of his life. I hope this has been a humbling experience.

Analysis
Edwards possesses the ideal size, length and athleticism for a forward in the modern NBA. Offensively, he has shown to be a reliable spot-up shooter with the ability to attack closeouts. He can also use his athleticism to get out in transition and finish strong at the rim. Defensively, Edwards is able to use his length to bother perimeter shooters and create turnovers.

Projection
Edwards’ game is reminiscent of Amir Coffey and GG Jackson as long wings who are able to use their athletic ability to leverage the threat of their outside shot into attacks at the rim. Edwards projects to be a capable scorer at the next level whose skill set will complement a primary playmaker. He also possesses the tools to be a versatile defender.

Is this guy moves and shoots like a Kelly Oubre clone?

Doesn't look nearly as bouncy as Oubre. Rodney Hood maybe?

I like the Bona pick. The one time I watched him was against ARIZONA and he was grabbing every rebound in that game. You never know. Maybe he sticks.

Shuttle Run: 3.22 (8th worst)

He's also old for a freshman, will be 21 in his rookie season. However he has a very natural shooting stroke and he's that forever coveted Sixers wing.

Measured at 6'6 at the combine w/o shoes and a 6'10 wingspan. At his very peak he's probably a "3&D (such an ambiguous label) " guy that can attack closeouts.

Probably most interestingly he was ranked third in the nation by RSCI in 2023. Five star recruit just behind Holland and Collier.

Maybe Lowry as the OG local boy can take him under his wing.

Damn. I was just looking at those results and how the hell does a 6'7 guard described as 'athletic' have a slower lane agility and shuttle run than 7'4" Zach Edey who is certainly not described as 'athletic'.

He’s like Brandon Boston. Ton of hype, nice size, not ready for the moment. Needed to come back for sure. Will the G League fix him? Does it ever for these guys who needed to come back?

With NIL now in play hopefully some of these kids that need to make money will consider that desperately needed extra year at the college level.

I’m wondering if college can even help some of these top recruits. I think AAU is murdering the US talent pool.

Youth sports has **** up everything. It was better when kids didn't focus on one sport the entire year.

Lmao what? If we got the next Capela at 41 to backup Embiid that’s a huge W.

I like the idea of Edwards but I do worry that being in his hometown is the last thing he needs to get his sh*t together.

He probably thinks “well it’s the last time I was good at basketball”.

Then again, he’ll spend a lot of his time in Delaware.

Did not get Trentyn Flowers. Curious who will be on the rest of the roster.

Don't do that

He spent his whole life here and never has gotten in trouble. He's a good kid that comes from a good family

The only thing that would stop Edwards is himself

Didn’t mean to suggest he will get in trouble or anything like that. Just that if work ethic is a concern having all your childhood friends around to distract you isn’t always the best thing.

Looks like Edwards' biggest problem is being out of shape. Hopefully we get something like "Heat Culture" going here to get him in top condition.
