I thought the second round minimum contract was a few hundred thousand but it's $1.2mil? Hmmm...so really a team saves about one million on having one of those contract compared to one on a player with a few years service.

Not as much as I thought but still could be useful for a team trying to shave off a few mil to get under an apron so those picks have some value going forward under the new cap rules. The Knicks added a few more future ones with all their trading this draft.
If you'd rather see your team fail so you can be right
...you are a fan of your opinion not the team.

Sure. But they're going to be paying him and giving him minutes and a roster spot and training hours. That's going to actively harm the Lakers. Which I'll allow.

Hukporti plays for my Australian team, i saw him live probably 6 or 7 times this last season, he can absoloutey play, he more than matched No.2 pick Alex Sarr, and can be a 3rd string big for sure.

How do you not make the Mavs give us a draft pick after they fukked us last year by tanking and actually having a good 1st round pick in a much stronger draft??

More than happy with this draft

Dadiet has good potential and I feel confident he'll be able to develop into at least a rotation piece, Kolek can be a solid backup PG, and we actually took a couple fliers on late 2nd round guys

None of them save Kolek should see any minutes next year (and Kolek only in case of emergency), but as long as they make the roster, we've filled the back end with young guys who probably won't amount to much but at least could amount to something

Really that was all I wanted.
BaF Lakers:

Nikola Topic/Kasparas Jakucionis
VJ Edgecombe/Jrue Holiday
Shaedon Sharpe/Cedric Coward
Kyle Filipowski/Collin Murray-Boyles
Alex Sarr/Clint Capela

Bench: Malcolm Brogdon/Hansen Yang/Rocco Zikarsky/RJ Luis Jr.

That was always the cost of trading for LeBron. At least he helped AD win a ring for them. Now they gotta deal with the end career shenanigans and the collapse

And Bronny gonna stink like that diaper he's wearing in that pic 17 years ago. :o :o

I had to do that but i hope the kid can at the very least stay in the NBA and have a average to good career.

This was a solid pick. Insane how he dropped. We don’t care if you older we like that here.

Read somewhere once he got hurt team went downhill. That’s the type of impact he has defensively. Also looks good on offense all around.

Started 16-4 and as one of the best teams in the NCAA. Finished 6-6 after he got hurt. He was a glue guy last year who leapt forward offensively to start the year and turned Kansas into a title contender. His injury ended that, they went from a very good team to a average at best team and were blown out in the second round of the tourney after having a legit title shot a month or so earlier. McCullar made that much of a difference for them. He seems like a better Grimes, or poor mans Bridges maybe. Just another defensive minded team player who can play some minutes and probably fill in for a few games here and there as the third wing if OG goes down and Hart moves into the starting lineup.

For that late in the draft, he was an excellent pick.

Oh, I see. Another 4 year guy + an injury. That makes a lot of sense for us to get. And, as you mentioned, now we can stash Dadiet in the G-League as a 2-way while we get some roster production from him and Kolek.

Wasn't Bryce James the one that hit a growth spurt and was supposedly better than Bronny? I haven't heard anything about him since that story a few years ago.

Bob Myers knows damn well he wouldn't have e drafted a kid with this profile.

Woj made the point on the broadcast - in a league where nepotism is part of the lifeblood of the ranks of ownership, FOs, and coaching, the idea that it is somehow offensive when a player gives his own son a boost is really shortsighted to me. It's buying into the billionaire's side of things - do a thing, but then vilify the class below you when they do it...so you can keep doing it yourself.

Read on Twitter

Well, two things. I think Woj is being entirely disingenuous because:

1) LeBron is a billionaire. This is the billionaire's side of things.

2) This isn't a case of someone getting a front office job or coaching position based off of who they know. There is a clear difference between that and someone being drafted into a professional league.

He knows this.

Nah, i think he'll stick around for a while. We have to remember all that the kid has been through and how little actual ball he really played especially last year after the cardiac arrest he had.

Prediction - before he's done Bronny will hold the NBA record of most seasons with fewest minutes (3 seasons minimum). Gotta prod Bovada to offer odds on that!
