Yeah, I'd assumed that Craig would be gone, who wears 13 currently, but maybe he is staying.

For all kinds of unique reasons specific to each team that drafted in front of us. Great players slide all the time. I don't understand your question.
Because I truly have no idea. To give you an idea of my level of interest in the Bulls and NBA these days, I can’t name a single player in this draft other that Matas. Great players slide all the time yes. Givony’s top player at one point, Matas was putting himself back to that level, this is quite a fall.
Is it quite a fall though? I say he was projected anywhere between 5-9 in most mock drafts, so yeah, he fell some, but I don't think it was some significant fall either. If you look at the players who leapt above Matas as far as the mock projections goes, it was Edey, Salaun, and to a degree Holland. Edey being a surprise but not a surprise pick by the Grizzlies, Salaun, I think was a slight reach, and Holland really doesn't fit with the Pistons, but has probably the most upside - I'd say Holland and Matas flipped in terms of projections in mock drafts.

I see 3-4 likely scenarios:
A) Craig is somehow staying so he doesn't want to change
B) Doesn't want it out of respect for Noah - possible being a CHicago kid and fan
C) Maybe the Bulls are wising up and gonna retire #13 so they told him pick something else?
D) Just wanted a change of pace?

That’s a dumb number to wear. Are people going to buy his jersey with a 00 ? I wouldn’t. Coby has the 0 too, what are you doing Matas!
Hopefully when Craig officially leaves 13 will open up again and he ll t change it to that instead like his g league number.

You think they should retire Noah’s number ?? Nahh we all loved him but definitely doesn’t deserve that. If he gets it then one day no numbers will be available and players will have to pick stpd numbers like 00 or worse. Honestly Rose doesn’t deserve it either, not enough team success.

Flagg and Matas would be interesting

We've been a team for almost 60 years and have retired 4 numbers, so the idea we'll run out of numbers anytime soon is hyberbole. Frankly, if you look at our franchise history, if noah doesn't deserve having his number retired, then who does aside from jordan and pippen?
We're not the celtics or lakers who win championships seemingly every decade. Does that mean that no one who plays/has played for us deserves to be acknowledged for their contributions as a bull just because they never brought us a championship?
We have plenty of players in our history who deserve to have their numbers retired, but haven't because the 90s bulls created an unfair expectation for every bull that came before and will come after.

I'm with Red on this.
Why does Noah deserve to have his jersey retired, particularly over the likes of Rodman, Horace, Artis Gilmore etc etc, same goes with Rose (and I love Rose). I get they gave us the most exciting times since the Dynasty, but other than making 1 ECF what else have they done?
I loved that Noah/Rose Bulls team, they were amazing and I think 1 piece away from making a real run at the finals, and who knows, maybe if Rose doesn't get injured they maybe make that run, but they never did so what's the point?

That's not what i said. It's not noah or rodman, horace, gilmore, etc...
The list of players who's numbers i want retired -
- chet walker
- norm van lier
- artis gilmore
- horace grant
- dennis rodman
- derrick rose
- luol deng
- joakim noah
They all had individual success while having team success, except for gilmore when it comes to team success. Their team success just didn't lead to championships, aside from grant and rodman, but walker, van lier, rose, deng, and noah were instrumental on teams that both went to the conference finals. To every team that didn't have a dynasty, reaching the conference finals would be a huge achievement and we should treat it as such.
