LOL...I can't expect an ATL lottery miracle to happen that often so as long as we can find talent in the mid-late lottery...be prepared for that scenario.

Anyone know if there's stars in the 8-12 range next year?

Rn, we have:

Scottie - Star, potential superstar. If he does end up as a superstar, we may still need a star-level scorer with him (i.e. Jokic w/ Murray).
IQ - fringe all-star
RJ - fringe all-star
Gradey - role player
Mogbo - role player
Walter - role player

If we can get a star-level player and Scottie develops to a #1 on a championship team, then we can contend for years to come.

Rj is gonna be our go to scorer. Not sure why people aren't more high on hkm considering the improvement in efficiency he had last season

Mogbo wore #10 and in college. I guess we’ll find out tomorrow if that number is reserved for Demar’s jersey retirement.

Yup. We have 3 already that can each go off for 20 points on a given night. We have shooting and defence...much more than we did last season with just the moves made today.

Depending on what happens with Bruce and Gary...there might be more (or less) to come.

We are definitely looking at 35ish wins and that's a good start. I don't know if drafting in the 8-12 range will yield another potential star but we already have 3 guys that can easily average 20+ ppg. Who knows what Gradey and Ja'Kobe end up when they hit their prime...but that's another couple of guys that can get some buckets on a given night.

I'm thinking long-term.

Is Scottie/RJ a championship duo like tatum/brown, jokic/murray, giannis/middleton, etc.?

i'm thinking rj might have to be a #3 on a championship team.

To be fair...I don't think Boston wins the championship without the Holiday and Porzingis trades and to some extent, the White trade...so while Brown and Tatum are your best players...that 5 man line-up is what really got them to championship. And it took Brown and Tatum a few years to get there. Brown is 27 and Tatum is 26.

Scottie has another level to hit. RJ is a 20 ppg scorer and hopefully continues to produce efficiently. I've been very pleased with I've seen so far. Is the 8-12th pick in next draft better than a former #4 pick and a former #3 pick? Hard to know for sure.

But we are not players in the Cooper Flagg sweepstakes next season...I can that with reasonable certainty.

yeah unless we win the lottery with atlanta hawks luck this year

either way, season after next is when we begin our perennial playoff run again like we did during lowry/derozan era.

Filipowski didn't work out for the raptors or any of the teams in the 20's which is part of the reason he slid apparently.

From what I'm reading, part of the reason he slid is because of this whole issue with him and his girlfriend who is 8 years older than him and has been with him since he was in high school. Apparently she has completely alienated him from his family.

I read that she's his cousin too, not sure if it's true.

Anyway I kind of feel bad for him already. If he's happy with his girlfriend that's his business, everyone has the right to do what makes them happy in life or what they believe to be in their best interest. Will his parents turn out to be right that his girlfriend was no good for him? Maybe, maybe not. But they should just have given him advice instead of hating on him and trying to control him to a point where he became alienated and decided to cut off contact with his family. Although their side of the story is that she manipulated him into hating his family or something.

Ultimately none of this has anything to do with the type of basketball player he is. He could end up being a hell of an NBA player for a long time and in the end maybe his girlfriend doesn't have any bad intentions. Regardless players even star players deal with personal baggage during their careers all the time, at least he's not brandishing guns like Ja Morant.

Felt like the Raps are looking for a Lowry/Fredderick replacement, and are giving two guys a chance at becoming that kind of player (Mitchell, Shead)

At 19 no Chomche. At 31 no Chomche. At 45 no Chomche. And with 57 pick in the nba draft studio in New York bunker the Toronto Raptors select Ulrich Chomche. Nicest kid on camera I've ever seen. So polite. Once he de-mined the media of buzz phrases he gave a great interview at the combine.
