The only way we're going to draft the next Jokic is to keep drafting these second rounders

He passes the eye test for me and definitely has a game similar to Brunson. It would be great if Brunson could go to the bench and have a legit playmaker on the floor.

I think he's getting minutes next season. When training camp rolls around I bet you all the articles will come out how much Thibs loves him.

And imagine- no more offensive stagnation with the 2nd unit.

We are going to be seriously cooking teams next season.

Love me some Kolek, he'll definitely be a solid role player for us down the line.

Knicks have the strongest identity of any team in the league now. Adding guys who fit our template is how to build a perennial winner.

This kid reminds me so much of Brunson the deeper I look, it's crazy. Plays hard and plays right all of the time. Does whatever it takes to win. Steps up and is not afraid in the big moments. Not a great athlete but gets to his spots when he wants at all 3 levels. We might have found our bench savior.

Hopefully better. TJ hurt us, but is he always that good?

Anyway, someone like the version of TJ we faced in the playoffs would be a welcome addition

TJ is a seasoned veteran and this guy is a rookie albeit an older one. I wouldn’t expect that level of immediate impact. If he plays at all

per my question, has TJ always been as good as he was against us?

I read he wasn't even in the rotation earlier in the season

Averaged over 10 pts and 5.5 assists in around 18 min/game. Per 36 min that's pdg.

You sure? I heard Kolek's pretty much already as good as Brunson, a top 5 NBA player...

I get it, Knicks fans don’t watch college basketball or follow the nba draft closely, but Kolek is one of the most nba ready players in this draft. We needed a backup PG to actually run the offense, that’s not Deuce’s strength. But the good thing is you can play them both together if needed. It’s not Deuce’s replacement but someone that brings a missing element to our bench.

Whoever called him Vanilla Brunson, that's a huge win of a post.

Brunson picked 33, Kolek 34. I talked more about him in the T&T thread.

He fills a need for us that I thought we'd be unable to fill as well. Good stuff.

Yep. No need for Rokas now. This may be the kind of guy who can take some pressure off Brunson.

The thing about this roster is we are deep enough that a strong backup facilitator can be a difference maker in maximizing our scoring opportunities when starters are sitting. Hart and Divo may be coming off the bench.

The mix and match opportunities Thibs will have now means he can play 10 guys without losing a step. Having a strong distributor is pretty much essential to getting Thibs to make the most of his rotations without burning out Brunson.

Looks like a very smart pick

He's also great insurance to actually come in and be able to run the team if (please God no) Brunson has to miss any games and keep us afloat. I love Deuce, but that's not really what he does. Deuce is a tweener, but plays more like an undersized 2 guard. Kolek can actually orchestrate

Without you even saying that his game reminded me of TJ.

I'm hyped but our last draft pick was Trevor Keels so I dont want to get too hyped yet.

Trevor Keels was one of those agent favors and minimum contracts if a trade came along lol, him coming out for the draft that was ridiculous
