Welcome David Jones!

Just signed a two way contract with the Sixers, per Keith Pompey. Went to DePaul but transferred to Memphis. I assume he'll just be another Summer League/G League body.

Was a pretty known college player with a nice all-around game.

However, measured in at just 6'3.5" at the combine (was always listed at 6'6" in college) and had a weak 34 inch vert. Way shorter and less athletic than expected.

This guy is going to fry the summer league and G League. Not sure he’s a pro, but he’s a killer as a scorer.

Holy crap! I'm actually excited about this one! I mean, I'm excited about all the new rooks we picked up, but I really like David Jones. I'm glad he's getting an opportunity. I don't why he wasn't drafted, but he has got a very smooth offensive game. Jones can really put the ball in the hoop. He hits a lot of threes, he can get to the basket, and he's got the ability to draw fouls. He's got decent size for a shooting guard too. I truly do not know what the knock on him is other than his age. I thought he was one of the more purer scorers in all of college last year. I think if Memphis would have stayed in the rankings and made a tournament run, he would have easily been taken in the draft. Jones made a lot of plays for Memphis last year. Him and Quinnerly were the only shot creators on that team, but Jones was the best player in the gym many nights.

It's probably nothing, he'll probably stick in the Gleague for a while, but he was one of my personal favorites in all.of college. I'm not even a big time Memphis fan but due to my location, their games were always on.

Did not know that about him. Watched a ton of him. He never looked a legit 6'6 but I didn't think 6'3. Oh well...He can flat out score the basketball. Hopefully he gets a few looks.

6’3.5 without shoes is 6’5 with shoes, so he’s not “tiny" by any means.

He’s the most fun pickup we could have gotten as a UDFA. Big time college scorer at a legitimate school. SL is going to be a lot of fun.
